“I get it serviced every year mate…on the dot…like clockwork…”

If I have to butcher your oil filter to this extent to get it off, then you’ve not had regular maintenance.

Modern engines aren’t like the Banana Engine Transit…they will not just keep going. Lack of maintenance is the biggest killer for new vehicles, especially those that have extensive emission reducing components such as DPF’s, EGR’s & more.

We don’t have to check your service book to know whether the cars been maintained or not! You’re only doing yourself an injustice by thinking you’re saving.

Bank Holiday Wet Belt Fun 🤩

Wet Belt completed on a customers 2019 RWD Ecoblue Transit today.

A job not many garages want to take on, which is understandable, but the principle of a wet belt is much the same as any other belt - it’s just the aggravation of ensuring the sump is removed and the oil pump strainer is cleared.

Unlike the FWD models, the RWD Transit’s - the engine’s support cradle needs removing from underneath and the engine and gearbox supported. Can be quite a daunting operation to undertake, but we thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Parts supplied with a mixture of Genuine and OE Equivalent parts. No expense spared with a full comprehensive kit including:

- Wet Belt
- Timing Belt Tensioner & Bolt
- Oil Pump Belt
- Timing Cover
- Sump Pan
- Oil Pick Up Pipe
- Genuine FORD Crank Bolt
- Genuine FORD Crank Idler Gear Bolt (ESSENTIAL)

Completed ready for the week ahead 🫡

Another Ingenium successfully repaired.

This Discovery Sport was suffering with the renound timing chain stretch, thermostat housing absolutely flooding the Piston Cooling Jet Solenoid (which was replaced by another garage recently but the leaking thermostat 95% of the time is the cause of the failure. Why let it go out leaking!?), a leaking injector which had solid carbon build up and a driveshaft bracket that was wobbling to kingdom come!

Unfortunately due to the sheer amount of carbon build up on the rocker cover, the entire rocker & camshaft assembly had to be removed to ensure no deposits of carbon went into the engine.

Turned around within the week and the customer is absolutely delighted that their Discovery Sport drives exactly as the factory intended it to 👌🏼

We’ve got ourselves an apprentice!

It only seemed like yesterday when I myself was an apprentice. Learning from old school folk, working on all manner of vehicles from 40 ton articulated lorries, bin Lorrie’s, cars, vans, motorcycles and all the rest. I must say I was taught the old fashioned way and everything I learnt as an apprentice I will hold with me for the rest of my career.

I didn’t have a hair on my face when I was an apprentice but these days they seem a bit fluffier!

Welcoming Trigger to the team. Trigger will ensure your car is sniffed thoroughly for any left behind treats BUT if there’s a SQUEAK…he may chew it 🙈
