🎉🎉Thanks to Millie Maxwell who passed here driving test this week and had this to say about her experience with Lee Jowett, our training manager and i-Can Driving Solutions :-

✨I chose i-Can Driving Solutions due to recommendations of friends. I previously come from another instructor and I could definitely tell the difference between the two, I was much more confident with i-Can driving solutions.

💷 I’d usually do my lessons after college and they were 1 hour lessons, we managed to practise everything I felt I needed and they definitely were good value for money.

💯Lee helped me the most at times when my nerves were bad and also on areas where I was unsure he always supported me and gave me tips to deal with nerves on my test. Overall I found learning to drive really comfortable with the reassurance of Lee, my instructor as he really helped boost my confidence.

RECOVERING FROM A STALL

If you stall during a driving test try not to panic. The examiner simply wants to see you get going again in as little time as possible, but more importantly in a safe manor. If stalling at any time whilst the car is in first gear, there is no need to put the gear stick into neutral. Leave the car in first, ensure you keep the clutch depressed and apply the handbrake. Re-start the car and off you go. If stalling in reverse whilst manoeuvring, again leave the car in reverse, apply the handbrake to secure the car and re-start. If the car stalls in any other gear, apply the handbrake and select neutral.

Are P plates a legal requirement?

Unlike L plates, it is not a legal requirement for drivers to display green 'probationary' P plates. P plates can voluntarily be displayed to show that you have just passed your driving test. You can display P plates on your vehicle for as long as you like

Finding a safe place to pull over when driving is essential. The SCALP routine can be applied for pulling up on either the left or the right-hand side of the road.

When asked to pull over, the instructor/examiner will specify whether it is the left or right side of the road that they wish you to pull over, they may also refer to the SCALP driving routine by asking you to park up in a Safe, Convenient And Legal Position.
