I see theres a nice looking tank on the Parilla etc group. I have a couple of those tanks but none with the rack. Was it an OE option? I'd guess so with the threaded inserts in the tank. If anyone has one for sale I'd be very interested.

Next stage of the high level exhaust system. Benjamin James Hardman has mocked up the silencer which snakes around the frame & suspension unit. It has the typical Parilla look about it I think? Ben will fabricate a new mudguard loop & mount supports for the carrier to it. Then its back to me to finish off the dry build before getting the cycle parts refinished & exhaust system chromed.

Progress on my Wildcat "special" up at Raysons Exhausts by Benjamin James Hardman . A tight radius bend to form the first section of a well "tucked in" high-level system. Snakes inside the frame to avoid any leg contact in use. I have vivid memories, ruined pants & a scar from an "incident" on my CCM604e years ago. Hot exhaust & an involuntary "rest" under it after a tumble on the Hafren enduro. After that I fitted a Buzzetti tyre lever as a "heat shield" & tried to fall off less. One of those ideas worked....

More from Ben at Raysons Exhausts as he brazes up some footrest hangers I made for my 250 Wildcat which is in the background of the shot. Cant wait to see the sinuous bends he will create for the high level exhaust system. I could watch him work all day, making skilled work look so simple......which of course it isn't!

My "bitsa" Wildcat getting attention by Ben at Raysons Exhausts . Side stand first & then on to a high level exhaust system.

The problem with the 400 series Parilla 175 highlighted another issue with some Parillas - gaskets. Getting anything new from a head gasket to a full set can be difficult if not impossible especially if the model is rarely seen or not in the mainstream of current interest. The 400### egine uses a unique head gasket not included in any new gasket set for instance. That prompted me to open up a stash of ancient 175 gaskets i got in a deal years ago. The sets were originally folded up in a paper envelope which 70 years later can be difficult to straighten out & use - hence my purchase of new sets from Athena/Centauro for my use & sale via the website. Along with the 175 sets i have some NOS gaskets for less common models such as the Parillino 4st moped. Over the next few weeks ill post them here before they go on ebay. Some may be full sets some are not. Heres the first. Folded gaskets have been carefully dampened, straightened out & dried between flat plates. Some were already in pieces so couldnt be saved. Hopefully getting a head gasket for a Parilla 48 4st will help finish a resto. They will be packed flat this time! Proceeds will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer research UK. This set £12 plus postage to where you are

Every day is a school day with Moto Parillas. A pal has a problem with his very early 400### engine, one of the very first engines with a few significant differences to later engines I was not aware of . Firstly the head mating face is machined away to accept a 3mm tall spigot on the top face of the barrel. Secondly the carb is mounted on a cylindrical stub rather than a stud affixed manifold. His problem is that the exhaust valve seat has come adrift. Has anyone out there got a similar head in good condition?

Good to see some information & hopefully discussion on the Parilla FB page about the "Giro winning" 175 MSDS machines. Back in 2002 I did my first Giro on my 170### series 175 MSDS. I met Bruno there who was quite surprised to see a Brit on a Parilla. His F3 bike was later ridden by Jack Dannenberg in 2004. I took lots of pix of it as it looked very different to my '59 bike & I knew very little about Parillas in general & MSDS machines in particular at that point.
