ππ EV Chargepoint Grant for Renters or Flat Owners:
UK Government Regulations πππ±
Here's what you need to know about the UK government's EV chargepoint grant for Renters & Flat Owners:
1. What You Can Get:
The grant helps cover the cost of installing an EV chargepoint socket.
You can receive Β£350 or 75% off the installation cost, whichever is lower.
Landlords have a separate application process.
2. Eligibility:
You must own and live in a flat or rent a residential property with private off-street parking.
You must own an eligible vehicle.
You cannot apply if you have already claimed the grant, are moving house, want to replace an existing chargepoint without a new compatible car, or live in a house you own.
Your property must be in the UK (excluding Channel Islands and Isle of Man), occupied, and have the necessary permissions and legal rights for the parking space.
3. Apply for an EV Chargepoint Grant:
Ensure your vehicle and chargepoint are OZEV-approved.
Contact an OZEV-authorised installer for a quote.
The installer will start your claim and apply on your behalf if you are eligible.
Installation must be completed within 90 days of approval, or an extension must be requested.
The installer will claim the grant after completing the installation, reducing the total cost by the grant amount on your invoice.
