There’s a bit more to replacing a Beetle door post than just cutting the old one out and welding a new one in… 👀🔧

Here’s a step-by-step look at the process — removing the rotten metal, preparing everything properly, getting the new door post positioned and aligned, then welding it back into place.

Getting the alignment right at this stage is crucial. A few millimetres out can make all the difference when it comes to door gaps and fitment later on.

New bit of kit in the workshop… 👀🔧

Our new jig table is finally in place — and this thing is going to get some serious use.

We’ve got some big plans for it, particularly when it comes to getting these old VWs straight, square and back where they should be.

This is just a little teaser for now…

We’ll be putting together some longer videos showing exactly what we’ll be using it for, how it works and why we’ve invested in it.

Decades of dirt. Gone. ❄️
