We are proud to introduce the Sentinel Shift and Warning Light!
Even with the best tuning, we can't account for overheating, low oil pressure or a split boost control line. A high proportion of the engine failures we see on logs would have been preventable if the driver had the right information clearly available to them at the time, which is why we embarked on a project to create a clear and obvious warning system.
The Sentinel shift light uses CAN bus data from the ECU and an RGB LED array to warn drivers of dangerous engine conditions as soon as they occur so that they can back off a hot lap and prevent damage. Its compact size means that it can be mounted close to eyeline without impeding vision of the road/track and 10 LEDs allow independent warnings for the most important channels.
As the name suggests, it is also a fully configurable shift light with auto-adapting shift RPMs based on the current RPM limit so that you can time your gear shifts to perfection! Light colour, brightness, pattern and RPM can all be adjusted to your personal preference.
Compatibility is currently limited to the gen2 (white) ME221, ME442 and ME360 ECUs. We are working hard to add compatibility for Megasquirt ECUs as well, so watch this space.
