After nearly a year of ownership, the HARD Performance Volkswagen CC looks pretty much the same but plenty has changed under the skin! Our battered, smelly, leaking ex-taxi came from a less than honest seller with a dubious MOT and a whole host of hidden issues, some of which were downright dangerous...
The guys at Team HARD. Racing have replaced the following:
Front subframe, wishbones, droplinks and wheel bearings
Cambelt and water pump
Driveshafts
Steering rack gaiters
Brembo brake discs and pads front and rear
Monroe electronic front dampers
H&R 40mm springs
Team Dynamics alloys with Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres
Wheel spacers
Powerflex rear control arm bushes
Headlamp level sensors
Drivers wing mirror
Engine undertray
Battery
We have also replaced the crankshaft seal which was causing a massive oil leak, and located and fixed a split in the passengers wheel arch which had let in a load of water. The interior no longer smells like a damp dog!
Needless to say the car now drives like new despite over 170,000 miles on the clock, and is now ready for another year of travelling to race tracks all over the country! Next thing to sort is the manky bodywork...
