💡 Yesterdays instructor training session focused on goal setting, understanding student knowledge, and building lessons that create real learning moments.

The aim? A light bulb moment.
What we got? A few flashlights… 🔦😂

That’s okay — because recognising where learning isn’t landing is exactly where great instructors improve. We work on turning confusion into clarity and helping instructors move from telling to coaching.

If you’re tired of feeling like you’re using a torch to guide lessons instead of creating genuine light bulb moments for your students… reach out. We can help. 💡🚗

🎬🚗 “Because everyone remembers their first lesson 👀” 🚗🎬

Today me and Ken Kang filmed a brand new driving lesson demo, giving a real insight into what a first lesson can look like for nervous beginners 🚘✨

From those first moments behind the wheel, to learning the basics of moving off safely, steering control and building confidence — we wanted to show that everyone starts somewhere, and it’s completely normal to feel nervous at first 😊

At Ace Drivewise our aim is to make the lesson feel relaxed, supportive and realistic, just like the experience we try to give every pupil at ACE Drivewise 🙌

Whether you’re thinking about starting lessons soon or know someone who is, remember… confidence grows one lesson at a time 🚗💨

Because everyone remembers their first lesson 👀

🚨 DVSA DRIVING TEST BOOKING CHANGES 🚨

The DVSA driving test booking system changed at midnight and there are now major new rules in place for learner drivers 🚗

✅ Only the learner driver can now book, change, swap or cancel their driving test
✅ Instructors and third parties can no longer manage tests on behalf of pupils
✅ Learners are limited to ONLY 2 booking changes
✅ New location restrictions for changing test centres are also being introduced soon

If you already have a test booked, make sure your own email address and booking details are updated correctly 📧

Please be patient while everyone adjusts to the new system and increased demand today 🙏

From today (12 May 2026), only learner drivers can book and manage their own driving test - part of a crackdown on exploitation by third-party services.

The red car and the blue car had a little debate… 🚗🔴🔵
One said “keep it clean and simple,” the other said “make it stand out and be seen!”

We need your help 👇
We’re looking at choices regarding the rooftops we use on our cars. As a team, we’ve always used one style — but now we’re thinking about a change.

What are your thoughts?

The Highway Code applies to all Road users

You may not have known that the Highway Code applies to pedestrians as well? Whether you're at a junction, zebra crossing or anywhere else, these simple steps can help keep you and others around you, safe:

🚶 Find a safe place to cross where you can see clearly in all directions. Use a crossing if there's one nearby.

🚶 Stop at the kerb and look all around for traffic. Listen too – you can often hear vehicles before you see them.

🚶 Wait for a safe gap. If traffic is coming, let it pass, then look and listen again.

🚶 When it's safe, walk straight across. Keep looking and listening as you cross, and watch for cyclists moving between lanes. Avoid crossing between parked cars, on bends or near the top of a hill where drivers can't see you.

If you need to know more to feel safe when crossing the road, find more in the Highway Code online: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/rules-for-pedestrians-1-to-35
