Why DB Vehicle Electrics Has Evolved into DB Tune?

For many years, DB Vehicle Electrics built a strong reputation for professional diagnostics, ECU programming, and vehicle security. The name reflected the type of work carried out at the time and served the business well during its early growth.

However, both the automotive industry and customer expectations have changed, and so has the direction of the business.

The transition from DB Vehicle Electrics to DB Tune marks a deliberate and considered shift in focus. It reflects how modern vehicles are now developed, modified, and protected, and ensures the business name accurately represents the specialist services offered today. The Business Has Become Highly Specialised. While electrical diagnostics were once a significant part of the workload, the reality is that modern vehicles are now software-led platforms.

DB Tune specialises in:

One of the key reasons for this decision is the unpredictable nature of electrical fault diagnosis, particularly where detailed technical data for a specific vehicle is unavailable. In addition, we experienced unacceptable behavior regarding potential unknown costs and unrealistic expectations around fault-finding outcomes. Electrical diagnosis is an investigative process, and it is not always possible to identify or resolve every fault within a fixed timeframe such as one to two hours. For these reasons, we do not feel it would be appropriate or productive to proceed.

Customers understandably want to know the total cost before work begins. With electrical fault finding, this is simply not possible. Intermittent faults can take minutes, hours, or multiple visits to identify.

Rather than compromise on transparency or quality, DB Tune has chosen to step away from this type of work entirely.

Jaguar XF 2016, Adblue countdown with less than 400 miles until a no start. With our Adblue solution it not only disables the Adblue system it also removes both NOx sensors which are common for going faulty.

The solution shows no signs of tampering meaning it would still pass an MOT test.
