Week ending 26th June — Haven Quay update

The heatwave has properly arrived this week (just in case you hadn't heard), and the Solent has been basking in the sunshine. Lots of boats out enjoying what can only be described as proper boating weather.

Back at the quay, it’s been non-stop. Plenty of lifts and launches, including this Saxdor for Ancasta International Boat Sales, alongside a healthy amount of antifouling. The yard’s been working flat out to keep everyone moving and making sure everyone can get out on time.

We even managed to shut the doors one evening and remind ourselves what the sunshine looks like from the other side, (strictly for research purposes).

If you're planning ahead and think your boat could do with a lift, scrub or come ashore for some pre-summer TLC, give the office a call on 01590 677072 or drop us an email at [email protected].

Blue skies, warm sunshine and that proper summer feel that makes everything just a bit easier.

We had a bit of a mix in the jobs this week — a boat lifted for antifoul as the warm weather has really encouraged growth, plus a couple of other lifts keeping things moving. We even managed to get out last night for a fishing trip round the back of the island, making the most of the conditions.

Forecasts are still looking very promising going forward, so we’re hoping this run of good weather sticks around for a while yet. As always drop us a line or pop in to the office if there's anything we can do for you

15th June — Haven Quay update

After a few weeks of weather keeping us on our toes, this weekend has been an absolute beauty with sunshine & blue skies.

It's been a fairly routine week in the yard, with a couple of lifts keeping us busy and everything ticking along nicely. That said, there was one slightly unusual moment. Whilst lifting a boat ashore, an eel decided to make an unexpected appearance, falling out from underneath the boat. Not something you see every day, and certainly not something that made it onto the job sheet that morning.

Apart from our surprise visitor, it's been business as usual at the quay. As always, if there's anything we can help with, just give the office a call or pop in for a chat.

**Week ending 5th June - Haven Quay update**

Apologies for this week's update arriving a day behind schedule. We'd like to say we've been too busy enjoying the sunshine, but unfortunately we've actually just been too busy.

It's been a week of lifts, scrubs and more lifts and scrubs. Elliot has barely had time to catch his breath as the recent combination of warm weather and surprisingly warm water has encouraged a bumper crop of marine growth. The upside is that some very satisfying before-and-after transformations have been taking place across the yard.

If your boat is starting to look more reef than hull, give the office a call on 01590 677072 or drop us an email at [email protected] for details and a quote.

The weather has also provided plenty of entertainment this week. One minute we had all the sliding doors open and were enjoying what can only be described as al fresco dining à la Haven Quay. The next, we were executing a remarkably swift retreat indoors as torrential showers swept through. Summer on the South Coast at its finest.

Looking ahead, it seems the weather may continue to keep us guessing, but we're sure that with any luck there'll be a little more sunshine.

Week ending 29th May — Haven Quay update

What a week for weather. Wall-to-wall sunshine, very little to complain about.

It’s been a busy one in the yard too, with a good mix of jobs including a very satisfying before-and-after lift and scrub, plus an interesting lift involving this high-performance powerboat — always keeps things entertaining.

We even managed to escape for an evening and make the most of it ourselves with a spot of fishing after work. It would’ve been rude not to.

Lets hope the weather continues with plenty more time on the water.

Week ending 22nd May — Haven Quay update

Business as usual this week at the quay, with the yard keeping busy and everyone making the most of the glorious weather we’ve been having. It’s not often a Bank Holiday weekend arrives with wall-to-wall sunshine, so we’ll absolutely take it while it lasts.

The river has been looking particularly good in the evening light, and there’s definitely a proper start-of-season feel now. Looking ahead to next week, the sunshine seems set to continue, with warm temperatures and lighter winds forecast.

Wishing everyone a brilliant Bank Holiday weekend and hopefully plenty of time afloat.

Week ending 15th May — Haven Quay update

Apologies for the lack of posting over the past few weeks — it’s been very hectic all round and the yard has been keeping us occupied.

This week has been another busy one, with a long list of jobs underway including the arrival of this Omega 828, brought down from Cambridgeshire by Squirrel Marine, Boat Transport. Always interesting to see boats arriving from a little further afield.

The weather, meanwhile, seems unable to make its mind up — one minute glorious sunshine, the next back into jackets and wondering what month it is. Still, the forecast is looking a bit more promising heading into next week, so hopefully we’ve got a steadier run of sunshine ahead.
