Home of the Contessa sailing yacht and the Atlas Carbon davit range. Jeremy Rogers Ltd has been in business since 1961 when Jeremy started building boats in his back yard in his home town of Lymington. Within 10 years Jeremy's Contessa brand became one of the most successful names in the yachting world and one of the largest boat manufacturers in Britain. Production included Contessas ranging in s

ize from the traditional 26 to the Doug Peterson designed grand prix 35s, 39s and 43s, many of which were exported to a worldwide market. The most popular of all the Contessas was undoubtedly the Contessa 32, Fastnet 1979 survivor and the small blue water cruiser of choice for countless adventurous short handed and single handed sailors since then. Today, a limited number of these much-loved classics are built to order adding to the more than 650 already sailing all over the world. Contessa refurbishments are another speciality of the yard in Lymington along with repair and refurbishment of all boats. Jeremy Rogers' company has long been involved in industrial moulding and today includes in it's manufacturing profile the Atlas Carbon davit range and other bespoke carbon fibre products like passarelles and carbon lifting beams.

Meet Glen!

Having joined our team as a shipwright two months ago, Glen has settled in brilliantly and got straight to work on Persephoneia (formerly Persephone). The boat has been in the yard for a substantial refit including a new engine, updated electronics and fresh standing rigging, while Glen has replaced the windows, built a new liferaft cradle and carried out a number of other repairs.

It’s been great to have Glen as part of the team and we’re looking forward to seeing more of his work in the yard. ⛵️

Meet the owner of Contessa 32 Lecas ⛵️

Tomorrow, Barbara and her husband will be taking on the legendary RORC Myth of Malham Race, a 235nm offshore challenge from Cowes to the Eddystone Lighthouse and back.

We’d like to wish them the very best of luck aboard . 🌊

Looking ahead to a big week as we prepare the moulds for a brand new Contessa 32…

Dave gives us an update on the deck mould, which has made its way into the yard and is currently being modified ahead of a gelcoat and fibreglass lay-up.

It’s not a quick process, but every stage lays the foundations for a yacht built to last generations. 💙

Nora, a stunning Contessa 32, has officially left the yard after some TLC with our team.

It’s been a busy few weeks, especially for our electrician, Dan. He’s carried out a complete electrical overhaul—rewiring the vessel, installing new batteries, and fitting both a new AC system and solar setup. To top it all off, yesterday the final piece of the puzzle was placed: a brand-new engine.

She’s now fully equipped and looking better than ever. We can’t wait to see her set sail! 💙

Saturday sees us host the amazing Rum Punch Party at RSYC with complimentary drinks from 18:00 - 19:15. A Club supper follows and sailors can then dance the night away to “The Accelerators”! Attendees at Sunday’s prize giving will also be able to enjoy wood-fired pizzas from the Wightwood Pizza van.

We look forward to seeing you there! 💙

The Contessa 32 mould has made it’s way to the yard!

Some of you may have already caught in our newsletter that we’ve had a new-build customer come along, and we’re all very excited. But for those of you who missed it, there’s soon to be a new addition to the Contessa family.

Very often, these are purchases that have been a long time in the dreaming and planning, and this next new build is no exception. Our new customer lives in Germany but spends the summer in Cornwall, where he is upgrading from a Cornish Crabber. He plans to cruise locally, as well as venture out to Ireland with friends and family.

Rest assured, we’ll keep you posted on the progress! 💙

It’s competition time 🍸

Last weekend, we loved seeing everyone enjoy the Contessa Gin as part of our 60th celebrations with the CO26 members. Now, with the Contessa Regatta approaching this June, it’s time to turn our attention to the next part of the celebrations…

During the event, we will be hosting a tasting competition to select the official “Contessa Regatta” cocktail. The winner will receive a bottle of Contessa Gin and, of course, the honour of having their creation take the title.

To enter, please email your name and phone number to Amy at [email protected].

Keep your ingredients and recipe under wraps for now… just make sure you’ve written them down before the trialing and tasting begins — we’ll need them if you’re selected as the winner.

Good luck 💙

2012 → 2026

From her first moments out of the moulds to a new chapter on the water.

Persephone, a Contessa 32, has recently been in the yard for a substantial refit. Along with a new engine, updated electronics, and fresh standing rigging, we performed a comprehensive systems overhaul.

Now she’s relaunched and ready for her journey back to America, we are looking forward to seeing her next years of adventures! 💙

What a truly special weekend it has been 💙

We want to thank everyone who joined us in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Contessa 26 this weekend. Meeting so many new members, alongside seeing so many familiar faces, truly warmed our hearts.

A huge thank you as well to everyone who helped make the weekend possible and so memorable — from the class committee, who organised an incredible dinner and poured love into every detail, to Simon, Jessie and Fiona for hosting the yard tour and keeping everyone going with tea, coffee and some famous flapjacks.

We hope to see many of you again in Yarmouth this summer, but until then, this has been a celebration to remember. ⛵️

We have a new arrival in the yard…

Longbow II’s story begins in 1968. Designed by renowned naval architect Robert Clarke for Admiral’s Cup-level offshore racing, she was later launched at Crosshaven Boatyard in Ireland.

Now, this beautiful 42ft wooden yacht is in the hands of our expert team — and we look forward to bringing you along on her journey!
