What an Escape Yachting power yacht expedition in British Columbia actually looks like, day by day.

Comfortable, well-appointed cabins. Excellent food and wine prepared on board and enjoyed on deck as the mountains do extraordinary things with the evening light. Long days - seventeen hours of daylight in high summer - to explore, hike, kayak and simply sit on deck in a state of mild disbelief at the scenery.

Hikes from the anchorages into old-growth forest and up to waterfalls that feed directly into the inlets below. Kayaking at dawn when the water is glassy and the eagles are fishing the shallows. Wildlife encounters - orca, humpback, grizzly, bald eagle - that produce the kind of photographs people spend years trying to capture.

And the evenings: mountain light, good wine, better company and the particular quiet of a place where no road has ever been built.

Spaces for our 2027 Caribbean season are filling up now.

This is not a soft marketing line. The people who know the Grenadines - who have sailed with us before or who've been watching our posts and made a decision - are booking. The shared trip spaces in January and February, in particular, are going in the way that the best departure dates always go: quietly and faster than you'd expect.

If escaping the winter to the Grenadines - to trade winds and turquoise water and sea turtles and the Mustique Blues Festival - is something you want to do in January or February, the time to enquire is now.

Escape Yachting has been sailing these islands for more than thirty years. We know exactly what's waiting for you. And we'd love to tell you about it.

We are back in Colombia in 2027. And Matthew cannot wait...

Our Colombia Land and Sea Tour is, in his words, the most complete way he has found to experience any country in the world. Not a highlights reel. Not a greatest hits package. A genuine journey through the full geography, culture, and character of one of the most extraordinary places on earth.

Bogotá in the Andes. The coffee valleys of the Zona Cafetera. The reinvented energy of Medellín. The highland calm of Minca above the Caribbean. Barranquilla's UNESCO carnival culture. Cartagena's incomparable walled city. And then the Rosario Islands in the warm Caribbean sea that is the perfect ending to the perfect trip.

2027 Colombia Land and Sea Tour enquiries open now.

For those of us who spend our summers on the Mediterranean and our winters in the Caribbean, British Columbia in Canada is something else entirely.

A change not just of scenery but of scale. Of mood. Of what a sailing holiday can be when it stops being about sun-loungers and anchorages and becomes about wilderness - real, vast, genuinely untouched wilderness, explored from the comfort of a well-appointed power yacht with everything you need on board.

Desolation Sound, sailing from Vancouver, is the antidote to the routine of every other sailing destination we visit. We love the Caribbean. We love Croatia and Sardinia. And we absolutely love coming back to British Columbia - because nothing else comes close to what it offers.

The ancient towns and villages of the Dalmatian coast are among the finest in Europe. From the water, they are even better.

Korčula's old town occupies a small peninsula that juts into the channel between the island and the mainland - its medieval walls and towers visible from miles away, the approach by yacht one of the great arrivals of any Croatia itinerary.

Trogir's UNESCO-listed old city sits on a tiny island connected to the mainland and to the larger island of Čiovo by two bridges, its Romanesque cathedral rising from a tangle of limestone streets that have changed very little in eight hundred years.

Stari Grad on Hvar - the oldest continuously inhabited town in Croatia, founded by the Greeks in 384 BC - sits at the head of a long fjord-like bay that yachts sail into slowly, in appropriate reverence.

All of this is on our itinerary. All of it is better from the sea.

A Sardinia and Corsica sailing holiday in 2027: what to expect.

Warm sun and clear water from the first morning. Anchorages in the Maddalena Archipelago that no hotel guest and no cruise ship passenger will ever see. Swimming off the back of the yacht before breakfast in water so clear you can watch the anchor settle on the seabed.

Evenings in small harbours - La Maddalena town, Santa Teresa di Gallura, Bonifacio on the Corsican side - where the fish is landed the same day and the local wine is chosen by someone who has known the vineyard for years.

The crossing to Corsica - fifteen miles of fast, exhilarating water between two worlds - which arrives as one of the great moments of the trip, every time.

This is Escape Yachting in Sardinia. 2027 dates open for enquiry now.

September in Croatia. We've just come back and we are already looking forward to going again.

The Adriatic at its warmest at 25 degrees, holding the heat of the entire summer in its deep blue.

The air still warm and gentle but without the fierce July and August heat that can make the towns feel crowded and the anchorages feel competitive.

The restaurants open and relaxed and pleased to see guests who want to sit for three hours and work through the menu properly.

The crowds have gone home. The best of Croatia has stayed.

We are taking enquiries for our September 2026 departure now - a handful of spaces remain. Our June 2027 Croatia sailing is open for booking.

Minca sits at around 600 metres in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta - the highest coastal mountain range in the world, rising from sea level to nearly 5,800 metres within 50 kilometres.

From Minca, the Caribbean is visible below on clear days. Above it, the cloud forest begins - home to around 300 species of birds, waterfalls that feed rivers running down to the coast - and the kind of quiet that cities with populations of eight million make you forget exists.

It is the last stop before the coast on our Colombia Land and Sea Tour. The transition from Minca to Barranquilla - from cool highland calm to full Caribbean heat and colour and noise - is one of the most vivid moments of the entire trip.

The Zona Cafetera - Colombia's coffee region - occupies a stretch of the western Andes that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage landscape.

And it earns it.

The wax palm - Colombia's national tree, which grows to forty metres and lives for up to two hundred years - lines the valley floors in numbers that make the landscape look entirely improbable.

The working haciendas where the coffee is grown, harvested, and processed have been doing so for generations.

The coffee itself, drunk on a terrace above the valley where it was picked, is the best argument for single-origin anything that Matthew has ever encountered.

This is the Colombia that exists between the cities and the coast - and it is, in its own quiet way, as extraordinary as either.

The water in the Adriatic this week was, according to our guests, the clearest they have ever swum in.

We hear this every trip. And we believe it every trip, because the Adriatic's clarity is not a marketing claim - it is a measurable, visible, extraordinary fact.

Visibility of 15 metres is common in the anchorages we use. In the coves off the south coast of Hvar and the bays of the Kornati, you can watch the anchor settle on the bottom in 12 metres of water from the surface.

Swimming off the back of the yacht, multiple times a day, in water this clear, is one of the defining pleasures of a Croatia sailing holiday. It is something our guests talk about when they get home, to people who cannot quite imagine it until they go themselves.

September spaces: limited but available. June 2027: open for enquiry.
