If you are visiting us at Lymington HQ this weekend, be sure not to miss the Lymington Seafood Festival, which is taking place right next door to Berthon.

On this day, 1st July 1882, the French steamship SS Hoche ran aground in dense fog while sailing from Rouen to Cardiff. Although the vessel was lost, all 23 crew members were rescued. Today, at low tide, parts of the wreck — including the boiler, anchor and rudder — can still be seen, offering a fascinating glimpse into this dramatic chapter of our maritime history.
