When you'd like a Mini to be even more mini, the Mini Marcos was a 1960s racer with aerodynamics in mind. Its fibreglass body was set on Mini running gear, with a swept-back windscreen and low roofline in an attempt to reduce drag and increase top speed.

One was even raced at Le Mans, against GT40s and Ferraris, which must have felt quite intimidating on the Mulsanne straight!

This 1962 (presumably the donor car's age) Marcos has just come up for sale in Japan with our friends at Turtle Trading, complete with MED steel crankshaft, twin HS4 carbs, LDX rockers, Stage 3 flywheel and a GT40-inspired Gulf livery.

Rare in the UK, and even more so in Japan, reflected in the price at 11 million Yen, or around £52,000. Have you ever driven one?

Our ultimate 300m steel Mini driveshafts are now back in stock. As used by front-running Mini Miglia, historic and rally competitors with excellent longevity.

We keep these for both Hardy Spicer couplings or pot joints, to cover all bases.

£350 inc VAT for a pair, part number MED-3902-HD for Hardy Spicer and MED-3907-HDP for pot joint.

Kevin Baynham sent us these pics by Ade of his very tastefully modified fast road 1275 GT. Kev's had the 1330cc engine built by Sprint Engines with a large dollop of MED inside.

Those upgrades include our popular RS camshaft, 1.5 roller rockers, Vernier timing gears, stub stack kit, Verto St1 flywheel, S damper kit and radiator. It makes 90bhp and should drive brilliantly.

Today we're mainly on MED camshaft timing covers and flywheel kits.

CNC machined from billet aluminium, the timing cover aims to eliminate oil leaks from this area, which are usually caused by a warped or damaged lip on the standard cover.

The removable top cover features a separate crankcase breather and replaceable oil seal.

Installation of one of our NXG limited-slip differentials into a full MED straight-cut dog-engagement gearbox.

In addition it's having an MED straight-cut final drive too, to further reduce transmission losses to the wheels.

Congratulations to Stephane and the team at BMC Historic Racing for rounding out another fantastic season of Mini racing on the continent, as part of the 1300ETC Championship at the Nurburgring.

With a 50-minute endurance race complete, the team clinched the SPI Mini Class for 2026, and had a lot of fun in the process.
