Otis popped in today with this stunner - a 1425cc fully modified saloon on split Webers, DTA ignition and a host of well considered upgrades from years of experience playing with Minis. The paint really pops in the sun!

MED ‘A+’ conrods are now back in stock. These have 1.750” big end journals and bushed 13/16” little ends to suit our range of Omega diecast pistons.

Weighing just 425g including the ARP bolts, these are perfectly matched to our modified A+ crankshafts for a high performance 1275 A-Series build. Stunning! 🤩

MED adjustable vernier duplex timing chain kits in assembly this afternoon, as used by many leading engine builders and also supplied as part of our fast road camshaft kits.

These make a fantastic performance upgrade for any A-Series engine, and adjusting the cam timing is far easier than with traditional offset keys.

These kits are always a joy to assemble - brand new HIFF44 SU on MG Metro-style alloy manifold, complete with MED stub stack kit and a set of three needles to get fueling in the right ballpark.

It's a sensible choice for most fast road 1275-based engines, and capable of over 100bhp if the build allows.

Here's a typical example of the performance gains using the MED stub stack system and ITG filter. This well prepared fast road 1293cc Mini engine featured an RS cam and modified 'Stage 3' style head.

The red line is with a regular filter and no stub stacks, and the blue line with MED twin stub stack system installed.

You'll see that torque has increased by 5-10% across the RPM range, with peak power up by around 6bhp.

We've seen similar gains on the single 1.75" carb too. Not bad for a bolt-on modification...!
