Congratulations to George Markey on receiving a Champions Award! 👏

George was nominated by Julie Asquith in recognition of his innovative approach to improving the way we work.

Using AI, George developed a process to check parts against work in progress, helping ensure nothing is missed before invoicing. The result is a smoother month-end process, valuable time and cost savings, and extra support for colleagues across the team.

It’s a brilliant example of using innovation to solve everyday challenges and make a real difference to the business.

There are not many people who can say they started a career emptying scrap and ended up running production across two manufacturing sites, but Scott Dunnicliffe is one of them.

Scott has been part of the Mackworth Vehicle Conversions family for over 20 years, beginning his journey as a welder fabricator and working his way through Team Leader and Workshop Manager roles across both LCV and HGV operations before stepping into his current position as Head of Production.

He knows what it takes to build things properly, because he has done every part of it himself.

Scott will be working closely with Steve Jones and the Bradford team to bring the best of Mackworth's processes and production knowledge to our site here in Yorkshire, making sure the standards our customers expect are delivered consistently across both locations.

We would like to introduce Andrew Kent, Head of Vehicle Conversions across Motus Vehicle Solutions, who will be overseeing both our Bradford and Derby operations.

Andy brings more than 25 years of experience across the commercial vehicle and automotive sector. Starting his career as a Workshop Supervisor and working his way through roles in commercial vehicle engineering and product development, he has spent decades leading high-performing teams and driving real operational improvement across vehicle conversion businesses, including Mix Vehicle Conversions and the Mackworth Vehicle Conversions site we know today.

A professionally qualified engineer with a hands-on, people-focused leadership style, Andy is passionate about building positive cultures where teams feel motivated, supported and proud of the work they do. That approach fits perfectly with everything the Bradford team is about.

We are delighted to have him leading the way as we write this next chapter together.

Another tired tipper brought back to life! 🚛

This DAF tipper from Myers Building & Timber Supplies had definitely seen better days. The side doors were completely seized, hinges had corroded, panels were badly rusted, and the doors simply wouldn't budge.

Not ideal when you're supplying materials and need your vehicle working as hard as you do.

Our team stripped the doors back, fabricated brand-new steel side panels, repaired and replaced the seized hinge mechanisms, and got everything moving freely again. To finish the job, the body received a full repaint in Myers' signature yellow, leaving it looking sharp and ready to get back to work.

• Brand-new steel panels
• Smooth, free-moving doors
• Fresh repaint
• Fleet-ready finish

🚛 From accident damage to back on the road - fully restored and ready for work. 🚛

When a tree strike caused significant damage to the bodywork of this curtain-sided rigid, the vehicle was taken off the road and an insurance claim was raised.

Roco Truck Bodies managed the entire process from start to finish, handling everything from the initial insurance claim through to a complete rebuild and return to service.

The work carried out included:

🔧 Complete removal of the damaged bodywork
🔧 Fabrication and galvanising of new front and rear frames
🔧 Full body rebuild with replacement front and rear floorboards
🔧 Brand-new curtains
🔧 Fresh rear door livery

The result? A vehicle restored to better-than-new condition and back where it belongs — earning its keep on the road.

This one was hanging on by a thread…

A full rip in the curtain, but not for long. Our team carried out a complete repair, bringing it back to full strength and a clean finish. A proper fix that got the vehicle back to work, and looking spot on!
