"Is this the end of the road for the Defender?" 💔

That was the exact question running through our minds when the engine suffered a complete failure right after our first drive.
After tearing it down, we got the news no one wants to hear: a warped cylinder head.

It meant a full engine strip-down, sending the head off to be skimmed, and rebuild number two.
It felt like a massive punch in the gut after everything we had already put into this defender.

But at Clutch and Dough, we don't quit when things get tough—whether it’s a failed batch of dough or a blown engine.

We got the head machined, rebuilt piece by piece, and... she’s running again. 🛠️💨

The road isn't always smooth, but the mission hasn't changed.

She moves. 🏁

Words can't describe the feeling of taking the Defender out for its very first drive after doing everything right from the ground up.

No sagging, no hesitation—just pure, refreshed 300 TDI power ready to work. We built this machine to pull our custom pizza al taglio trailer, and today proved she’s more than ready for the job.

First milestone checked off. Now we gear up for the dough!

Done right from day one. 🛠️🏁

We could have taken shortcuts to get on the road faster, but that’s not how we operate at Clutch and Dough.

We are officially putting the final touches on the Defender before its maiden voyage. A fresh exhaust system, upgraded heavy-duty steering bars, a brand-new radiator, basically new everything!

It’s taken time, patience, and a lot of late nights in the garage, but the 300 TDI is finally ready to turn the key and hit the road.

First test drive coming up next. 🔑💨

Fresh steel, zero compromises. 🛠️

Out with the worn-out components, in with the fresh hardware. We just finished fitting brand-new brake discs, pads, and fresh wheel bearings on all four corners of the Defender.

We put the same level of precision into our mechanical work as we do into our 72-hour fermented dough. Everything has to be tuned to perfection before we hit the road.

We’ve been quiet, but we’ve been incredibly loud in the background. 🤫🛠️

If you wondered where we went, we’ve been deep in the logistics of bringing Clutch and Dough to life. While the grid has been quiet, the business has been moving fast—and we just hit our biggest milestone yet.

The deposit is officially down, and our custom food trailer is officially underway! 💳🍕

While the Defender gets prepped to haul it, the kitchen itself is being made. We are one massive step closer to serving up that crispy, airy pizza al taglio you’ve been waiting for.

A much-needed upgrade. 🔄⚙️

Today was a massive step forward. Swipe to see the difference between the crusty, rusted old springs and shocks we pulled off, and the brand-new terrafirma setup that’s now sitting under the chassis. The Defender isn't just looking meaner on its new wheels—it’s officially ready to handle whatever the road throws at us.

One step closer to getting this rig on the road and getting those ovens fired up. 🍕

High-performance engineering, in every slice. 📐🍕

You’ve seen us working on the 300 TDI, but let’s talk about the other side of the Clutch and Dough equation.

We aren't just doing any pizza; we’re specializing in Pizza al Taglio. It’s all about the hydration, the long fermentation, and that perfectly crisp, airy foundation. It’s the architectural equivalent of what we’re doing to this Land Rover: focused on the structure, the details, and a damn good final product.

The Defender is the engine. The al taglio is the fuel.

Every great bake needs a solid foundation, and every food trailer needs a legend to pull it. Meet the newest member of the Clutch and Dough team: a Land Rover Defender Hicap 300 TDI.

She’s a bit rough around the edges and needs some serious wrench time before she’s road-ready, but that’s exactly why we picked her. Like a good pizza, greatness takes time, manual labor, and a lot of heart.
