We’ve not posted anything for a while now as we’ve been busy with everyday crash repairs but we’ve also been very busy on this 1966 MKIV Ford Zephyr
That came to us for a sympathetic tidy up now Val and Cecil who have owned the Zephyr since 1968 and are two of the loveliest people you could wish to meet and had a desire to refurbish the Zephyr back to its original condition.
I gotta say we went a lot further than was first expected with a lot of Welding and Lead Loading
We’ve primed this vehicle in 3 stages
Epoxy Primer, Polyester Spray Filler, 2K High Build Primer and then Refinished in 2K Polyurethane all resulting in a very Straight Vehicle with a beautiful Gloss .
We’ve painted every inch of this Zephyr
Engine Bay
Inner Boot
All Body Panels inside and out
Underside of Body and Suspension
Although we are no Auto Upholstery Experts we recovered the parcel shelf and centre console
We also purchased and fitted a Reproduction Carpet from Autodec in New Zealand which I have to say fits very well over the Fat Mat insulation we installed.
We also sourced a great range of NOS parts from great people around the world
Obviously the UK also Denmark and New Zealand
Shield Batteries did a fantastic Hard Rubber Reproduction Battery that looks original sitting in the Engine bay .
We handed the Zephyr back to Val and Cecil on Friday just in time for them to attend a Car Show they longed to attend and are planning several more before the show season ends it’s been great getting to know Val and Cecil with their weekly visits checking on the progress and even now the Zephyr is finished we hope they continue to visit on a regular basis .

Just an update on the Citroen DS that we completed just a few months ago we never had the Vehicle just all the body panels but Olivier from French Classics popped in today to show us the finished Vehicle now that it’s been lovingly rebuilt and I must say all credit to French Classics the fit and finish looks stunning .
It was a lot of hard work from Welding and Lead Loading to priming and painting but seeing the finished result makes it all worth while .

Lastest Classic to be completed at Longfield Automotive
Ford MK 1 Capri this was a collaboration with our good friends at Flowtech Exhausts who replaced both outer sills and then passed it over to us to repair and refinish the lower half of the vehicle

Another Classic gets collected today as these Citroen DS panels are completed after a lot of rust repair all the welding Lead loading and preparation finally pays of as they get refinished in Citroen AC632 Blau Platine the beauty in this job was we did not need the vehicle as every panel just unbolts from the body shell

Just completed the refinishing process to this Caterham including a new nosecone and bonnet with repairs to the scuttle finished in Lamborghini 0077 Verde Intaca 3 stage pearl that we matched edge to edge as there was no blends finished off with a gloss black stripe to the nosecone

A few months ago we posted a video of a Triumph Stag that we had just finished painting using Direct Gloss 2K Polyurethane well after months of Cutting/Welding/Lead Loading Prepping and Painting this British Classic left us today returning to Chris the Customer to be reassembled here’s the progress pictures through the various stages we would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris for entrusting us to bring his pride back to prestigious condition we wish both Chris & Chelsea many happy years of motoring

Just a little update on the Anglia we painted a few month's ago. I went to see it and it's owner today and he is now putting the car back together carefully with alot of it's original parts and some new and refurbished parts aswell. This should be a lovely little car once it's back together and up and running. Keep an eye out for it as it should be at various shows next year.

We finally got some paint on the Triumph Stag today after several months of welding, repairing and straightening. Now the bodyshell has been painted in it's original colour Tahiti Blue we just have the doors, bonnet, bootlid and hardtop roof to do.

All clean and tidy. Sometimes you need to take a few days away from the repairs and have a tidy up. We've spent the last couple of days jetwashing the walls and painting them aswell as cleaning and replacing all the light bulbs and replacing the floor and ceiling filters. This should help with keeping our paintwork nice and clean especially as we have several car to completely repaint in the next few weeks.

Most Black cars are not just Black, take this Lexus RX450h for example in most normal light this car just appears to be just a solid Black colour but when you introduce a bit of light to it the colour just comes alive. This is a pearlescent colour and makes a real difference to the effect and look of the car.
