ChromeLondon Classic Audio | Classic Cars
New Showroom Now Open Here at chromelondon we specialise in all original classic car radios.

Your classic car just is not complete without one! Best place to start is research the options that were available for the car when it was made, many had factory audio options but many more simply left the factory without a radio and it was up to the dealer to supply one. You can always drop us a line or better still, send us a photo of your dash, by email to [email protected] or call us on 07799242626 and we will be happy to advise on the correct radio for your car, whether you are going for concours or simply want to return to originality, our advise is always free, honest and informed.

Here we have one of the most beautiful cars the new showroom has hosted to date. The SP (six pack) version of the MKIII Jensen Interceptor, a very rare car, Only 232 made. Featuring a heavily louvered bonnet for better cooling, blue badging and a yet more powerful 7.2l V8 Chrysler motor. This car could accelerate to 60mph in 6.9 seconds reaching 143mph - in 1972!

This is no trailer queen, fully restored to be a daily driver, she is as iconic a British bruiser as you will find.

If you don’t relate to this scene than perhaps classic cars aren’t for you!
Every now and then they like to test your patience, it’s the flip side of all the pleasure they give.

Added an active DAB antenna via a splitter to this retro Frankfurt MB installed in a Jensen SP. Active because it takes power and a splitter because it hijacks the external metal wing aerial for reception. Much neater than having an unsightly DAB antenna stuck to a windscreen. Particularly on such a beautifully restored classic.

We also replaced the cheap JVC coaxials with Audison full range speakers in all four locations.

All work carried out in our Burghfield showroom.

Porsche 911 2.7 finished in Aubergine with sport check. Just has a dangerous focussed feeling about it everytime I walk past it. Stunning is a word bandied about a lot. This one is the real thing.

Just installed this Blaupunkt Frankfurt with fascia and speaker grill into a 1972 BMW 2002. The radio k***s and monochrome are now very difficult to get hold of, OEM and match the cars switchgear exactly. The beeping is the bluetooth activating. Fitted and incabin antenna out of sight since the roof mount just didn’t pick anything up.

Viewing a 1938 Mercedes W136 170V today, I recently purchased this at auction and wanted to see what I had bought. Very honest if a little neglected. Pre war and just after post war is a market that really is struggling. For many reasons, very little emotional connections are left, not the best to drive, finding the right people to maintain them is a struggle and some of the tech used is obsolete. Having said that, a car this beautiful with provenance and documented history going back to 1938 connects with me!
Although it desperately needs whitewalls to set it off and add a touch of panache!
Ordered in RHD from the factory the car was used to tour Germany on honeymoon and exported to Africa just before the outbreak of the war. It has stayed with the same family for nearly 90 years - wonderful. The value in this era of vehicle is real and I just think they are so undervalued.

Stay tuned for more news on our 170V - btw this stands for ‘Vorn’ or front - distinguishing it from its rear engined predecessor.

The full circle classic car for me. In the mid nineties I drove R107 everyday, fast forward thirty years and this is the last one I had as a daily. Production ceased in 1989 but, to me, they still drive well, keep up with traffic and feel secure. Short of a 912 I think they are the most useable of classics but what do I know?
