Do you know what to look for when choosing a driving instructor?

πŸš— Approved driving instructors (ADIs) and trainee driving instructors must display a certificate in the windscreen of their vehicle when they are providing paid instruction.

They display:
🟒 a green certificate if they’re a fully qualified driving instructor
🩷 a pink certificate if they’re a trainee and are going through the qualification process

Are you a careful and considerate driver? πŸš—πŸ’

The way we act behind the wheel matters – not just for our own journey, but for everyone sharing the road.

βœ… Try to be understanding of other road users if they cause problems. It might be because they’re inexperienced or unfamiliar with the area.

βœ… Be patient and remember anyone can make a mistake.

βœ… Don’t become agitated or get involved if someone behaves badly on the road. Pull over and calm down before continuing your journey.

βœ… If a road user pulls out into your path at a junction, slow down and hold back. Do not drive too close behind to intimidate them.

Are you hitting the road this week?

Make sure you keep to the basics. Avoiding these can greatly reduce your chance of being a risk whilst out on the road:

🚫 do not begin a journey if you are tired
πŸŒƒ avoid long journeys between midnight and 6am
βœ… plan to take breaks
πŸš— if you feel sleepy, stop in a safe place

It is a criminal offence to stop for any duration on zigzag road markings. They exist to protect pedestrians.

The law applies to all drivers - including taxi drivers.
