Part 3 pass rate is now the lowest since 2007 🤯

DVSA published the full year figures on 25 June.

2025/26: 13,606 tests taken. 3,784 passes. A pass rate of 27.81%.

That's the busiest year for Part 3 in the whole 19 year record. It's also the weakest pass rate in it.

Now, be careful with the older numbers. DVSA say not all Part 3 tests were recorded before December 2022, so the 37% peak in 2018/19 isn't a fair comparison. But use only the years we can trust and it still tells the same story:

2022/23 — 36.31%

2023/24 — 34.21%

2024/25 — 28.90%

2025/26 — 27.81%

Tests up 58% since 2023/24. Passes up 28%.

That's 9,822 people who failed Part 3 last year. Nearly every one of them paid somebody to get them ready for it.

So which is it? More people coming into the industry, or fewer people being properly trained before they book?
