⚠️ Correct diagnosis makes all the difference

This Ford Focus C-MAX arrived at GSP Motors with multiple engine fault codes, including:
• Turbocharger underboost
• Camshaft position sensor related faults

After clearing the faults and carrying out a road test, a new fault code appeared indicating a mechanical camshaft timing issue (camshaft timing over-retarded, Bank 1).

During mechanical inspection, we confirmed that the engine timing was incorrect and the VVT pulleys were not in the correct position, which fully explained the previous fault codes and poor performance.

👉 To ensure long-term reliability and provide proper warranty, we recommended replacing the complete timing system and VVT pulleys rather than attempting a partial adjustment.
With customer authorisation, all components were replaced and the engine timing was reset using locking tools.

✅ Final result:
Vehicle road tested, no fault codes present and engine running correctly.

This vehicle came in with engine warning lights related to the oil pressure control system and crankcase ventilation.
After detailed diagnostics, we identified faults in the oil pump control system and the PCV (crankcase ventilation) valve, both of which can seriously affect engine performance if not repaired in time.
