The Cheeky Kitchen

The Cheeky Kitchen We offer cookery sessions for children using the kitchen as our classroom. Come and join us today. Cheeky Kitchen is where children learn through cooking.

Children will learn a wide variety of skills through cooking and have lots of fun getting a bit messy while making our kitchen creations. Sessions are led by experienced nursery teachers. We use the kitchen as our classroom. While exploring fresh ingredients and following recipes, we aim to develop skills such as sharing, teamwork, language and communication, numeracy and literacy. We will develop

fine motor skills as we chop, mash, slice and dice. We will learn about healthy eating and enjoy international cuisines. We provide aprons and all the ingredients for the session. Parents/carers are welcome to have tea and coffee in the adjoining room. Children will bring taste what they’ve made and bring some home.

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. Here’s a recipe for prawn 🦐 pasta that’s easy and yummy. We had this for lunch today and the whole family loved it. Prawn sundried tomato pasta

Boil pasta according to instructions. We used fusilli because its easier for baby chef to eat and it takes 8 minutes in hot boiling water with some salt and olive oil.

Chop up 2 cloves of garlic
Chop up some sundried tomatoes.
Saute the garlic until light brown, add cook the prawns (fresh or frozen). When the pasta is ready, add it to the pan.
Season with fresh basil, salt and pepper and mix well. Let it sit for about a minute and serve!

Enjoy.

There are so many things going on in the world at the moment I will confess to not having full understanding of the issues. But I watched the video and saw a full grown man crying out for his mama in his final moments. It was heartbreaking and surreal. And I want to honour him and all victims all over the world.

I made p**o (Filipino steamed cake). I brought out the steamer which fitted nicely in my suitcase years ago. I love the smell of the rice flour and wood in my kitchen now. It’s popular at home as well. Food is a great way of teaching children about countries and traditions. Happy bank holiday!! **o @ The Cheeky Kitchen

Three years ago I started Cheeky Kitchen from my home kitchen. It’s been a great ride, doing things for the first time, doing something I am passionate about, meeting and cooking with hundreds of lovely little chefs and their families, working with other fab small businesses. Cheeky Kitchen is my 3rd baby, my labour of love, something I’m really proud of. It’s not a great time for Cheeky Kitchen with Covid19. I am prioritising my other babies at the moment but I’m hoping to meet you all again someday soon and we’ll celebrate and cook up a storm 🤞

Hello from all of us. Many of you would recognise this door as it leads to where little chefs explore and enjoy making food for an hour and grown ups get to sit down and have a break. We have been on a break due to pandemic and have been spending lots of time as a family working, homeschooling, going for cycle rides. I miss meeting little chefs and having fun in the kitchen with you all. We’re hoping to see you all again someday soon! Doorstep photo was taken by the lovely . Wishing everyone a happy Easter 🐣. It may be a different kind of celebration but it’s still a celebration just the same. Ours will be a day of crafts, egg decorating and hunting and making Easter treats. Recipe alert! Mary Berry’s Chocolate Brownies
275g unsalted butter, softened
300g caster sugar
4 eggs
75g cocoa powder
100g self raising flour
100g chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 160°C fan and line a roasting tin (30cm x 23 cm) with baking paper.
Combine the butter and sugar then add the eggs. Mix in the cocoa powder and self raising flour and finish by stirring in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the baking dish, smooth it out and bake for 40-45 minutes. Check with a skewer. It should come out clean but still gooey/soft. We added the chocolate eggs at 30 minutes baking.
Leave to cool in the tin before cutting into squares.
