What do we see when we look at Spain’s new F1 circuit, Madring? 👀

The interesting section is the transition out of La Monumental into Turn 13.

Drivers will spend around six seconds in this long, 24% banked corner, then almost immediately have to brake from over 300 kilometres per hour to around 140.

That transition from sustained lateral load into heavy braking puts a real emphasis on stability, confidence and consistency through the pedal.

And importantly, the brake fluid has to deliver that same response lap after lap.

🏁 F1. Madrid | 10–13 September

And we’ll be on the ground at a number of them.

This weekend, more than 50 GT3 cars will take on the Nürburgring for the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.

One of the circuit’s biggest braking moments comes at Turn 1, immediately before the slower and more technical Mercedes Arena.

For the driver, the challenge is not only stopping the car. It is knowing that the pedal will respond predictably every time they brake, even as temperatures build and conditions change throughout the race.

That is where brake fluid matters.

It transfers the driver’s input through the braking system, so consistency in the fluid contributes to consistency at the pedal. That allows the driver to judge the braking point, control the pressure and release the pedal with confidence.

Why brake fluid chemistry matters.

At high brake temperatures, the chemistry behind your brake fluid can directly affect pedal feel and consistency.

Borate ester
•⁠ ⁠Lower compressibility
•⁠ ⁠More consistent pedal feel
•⁠ ⁠More controlled response at high temperatures

Vs.

Silicate ester
•⁠ ⁠Higher compressibility
•⁠ ⁠Prolonged pedal travel
•⁠ ⁠Less consistent response as temperatures rise

The difference comes down to how these chemistries behave under extreme conditions.

Borate esters also interact differently with absorbed water, helping maintain a more homogeneous fluid and controlled braking response.

This is why P1 & GT use borate-ester technology.
