Vauxhall Corsa came into us last week with the oil pressure light coming on . Very common issue as with all wet belt engines , the belt degrades in the oil and blocks the strainer causing oil pressure issues . It was all stripped down , the strainer was meticulously cleaned and every where else was cleared of debris. All genuine parts used and reassembled. Oil pressure back to where it should be 👌🏻

Quite a few wet belts being done at the moment, this week ,another Ford Fiesta Ecoboost . This one is starting to perish as you can see .All genuine Ford parts used .

We've had a Fiat 500 brought into for a clutch . After removal of the gearbox we've found that the release bearing has collapsed damaging the fork and input shaft guide tube/housing . The housing is part of the casing on these boxes so it will be stripped , fitted with a new front casing , new bearings then all reassembled next week with a new clutch kit

Had a 2018 Peugeot Partner recovered into us last week . The customer heard noises from the engine bay area the day previous and it stopped running the following day when he was driving it 😳 Initial investigations found the timing belt was very slack and the tensioner had collapsed. A new belt and tensioner were fitted , the cam cover removed to check and although there was no obvious breakages it was clear something was a miss . Common on these engines is when something on the drive belt area fails the valves hit the pistons and can break the rockers and move the camshaft lobes as they're not a single casting . Once the cam carrier was stripped down a new camshaft was compared to the old old one and it was clear the lobes had moved throwing the valve timing out . A new set of followers were fitted. We did check down the injector holes for any obvious valve damage with a bore scooe and carried out a smoke test to make sure the valves were seating . All reassembled and it ran lovely . A lucky customer ! The timing belt was overdue and the vehicle hadn't been serviced for 4 years . So a service was also carried out with fresh fluids and filters . That's why maintenance is important to try and avoid costly repairs .

We’ve noticed recently a big increase in lubricant prices from our suppliers due to world events . Also availability of certain grades are being limited .This means you will see a slight increase in servicing prices although we’ll try and absorb as much as we can . Also Air Conditioning gas prices have increased dramatically. Once our stock has gone this may also see a price increase but again we’ll endeavour to keep our customers best interests at heart .

Had a 2022 Peugeot Partner fail its MOT on an excessively worn rear wheel bearing . Usually a straightforward repair , but on this platform of van shared with Renault , Vauxhall , Nissan , Citroen etc they have what's known as a GEN2 bearing . These are complete with the hub fl**ge , have no centre hole and require specialist tooling to remove without damage. A dealer couldn't look at the vehicle until August ! So we've purchased the correct tooling to enable us to carry the replacement on these all at the fraction of the cost of a dealer . So if you run one of these vans we can now carry out these repairs.
