Did you know that current owner, Henry (me) had another business prior to owning Burlington Motors - Foundation fitness, a mobile personal training company established in 2010 which was run alongside Burlington motors for a few years before Barry retired and I took over and foundation fitness came to a close 🏋🏻🏃‍♂️😁 🚙 👨🏼‍🔧

FACT 6. Following on from Sunday’s London marathon - Did you know that about the time Len started Burlington motors in 1956, he was a decent athlete at 24yrs of age and sporadically trained alongside Roger Bannister, Chris Chattaway & Chris Brasher. 🏃‍♂️😁 🚙 👨🏼‍🔧

FACT 5. Did you know before we resided at number 52 birkbeck road, it was previously residence to another garage called Webbs Garage (owned by George Webb - he had been set up as a partnership & the partner left, George lived in North London & he found the travel & being on his own too much). Before that it was a spares department for British Rail and prior to that it was used as a warehouse for Fyffes Bananas 😁 🚙 👨🏼‍🔧

FACT 4. Did you know I (Henry), Initially did my apprenticeship with Burlington Motors, but Barry actively encouraged me to do other things first and even went off to university before I eventually wore him down and he took me on 😁 🚙 👨🏼‍🔧

FACT 2. Did you know we briefly changed our name and became CB Motors (Colin & Barry Motors) in 1966, but we reverted back to Burlington Motors in 1977 🚙 👨🏼‍🔧

To mark our 70 years in business we are doing 70 facts about our beloved Burlington Motors, that you may (or may not) know … the first one is below 👇…

FACT 1. Did you know we started in 1956 in Burlington mews (behind the parade of shops off churchfield road) in a small workshop beneath where the Nicoll family lived at the time. We stayed there until the 80’s when the council decided to re-develop it, which was when we found our current premises where we have been ever since 🚙 😃
