With the summer holidays and things starting to return to ‘normal’ with many children going back to school this week, we have compiled a list of 5 keys points to help ease the stress of the ‘back to school’ traffic.
1. Planning
- if you are new to the school run, test your route beforehand. Failure to prepare is preparing to fail and by knowing your route this can get rid of one element of stress on those mad mornings.
2. Timing
- allow extra time to get places, the roads are not as clear as they have been and you do not want your children being late for their first day back.
3. Avoid traffic / peak times
- if you are flexible with your timings, try to avoid travelling at the busiest times or check your route on a travel app before you set off. ;)
4. Be aware
- back to school means more young pedestrians so pay extra attention when driving near schools or busy bus stops.
5. Car share (where possible)
- this is a great way not only to reduce the number of cars on the road, but to save time and money, PLUS the children will have more fun on their trip to school.
