An end of an era is upon us....
The Carpenter's name that has been on this site since 1901, the Gingell name since 1964. Both will come to an end on Thursday 09th January 2025 when, due to retirement, we close our doors for the last time and Carpenter's will cease trading.

It will certainly be a sad day.....
Our late parents made many sacrifices and moved heaven and earth to get the business established and we simply would not be here today without them.

However, a new journey begins as Tooting Autocentre will open on Friday 10th Jan.
Regular customers will be happy to know that the long serving and loyal technicians, Gary, Andrew and Branden, will remain.
We wish them and Tooting Autocentre every success for the future.

We would like to thank all of our past customers for their business and loyalty over the past years. Recent comments from those who have already been told, have been most humbling.

Christmas will soon be upon us, so please book ASAP if you need your car serviced before that long trek to see family or just get away from it all!

The workshop will be closing at 12:30 on Thursday the 23rd December. We will reopen at 8:00 on Tuesday 03rd January 2022.

The current 6 month Mot extension will cease on midnight of the 31st July 2020. All Mots due after that date will no longer qualify.

25/03/2020

Mot update: vehicles and motorcycles, where the current Mot expires before midnight on the 29th March, MUST still have an Mot test carried out. Vehicles that have an expiry within the next 7 days after that date will have an AUTOMATIC 6 month extension added to their Mot. This will then roll forward a day at a time. (Information given by DVSA on the 25th March 2020.)

We have had several enquiries asking if we are still open? The answer is a definite YES! We will however be trying to keep our distance when dealing face to face with customers and we clean the PDQ terminal, door handles and counter top down several times a day to.

It is with deep regret that we announce that Derek, the founder of Carpenters Garage, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday 08th January 2020. Will he will greatly missed by his wife, sons, grandsons, staff and all those that knew him. RIP Dad.
