How long should primer really be left before sanding?

With TULDA PT30 Multiprimer, correct flash-off and drying times are essential to achieving the right surface for the next stage of the repair.

Apply 1–3 coats, allowing 5–10 minutes flash-off between coats at 20°C. Once applied, allow a minimum drying time of 2–3 hours at 20°C, or 20 minutes at 60°C.

Once ready, the recommended sanding range is P360–P500 dry or P600–P1000 wet.

Here’s a simple guide to help match the sanding stage to the right TULDA film disc.

P240 for stronger initial sanding and heavier correction.
P500 for refining the scratch pattern after coarser sanding.
P800 to P1000 for finer preparation and smoothing.
P1200 to P2000 for the final refinement stages.

Using the right grit at the right stage helps keep the sanding process more controlled and the surface progressively smoother.
