Not sure if you qualify for a Blue Badge? You might be surprised.

Since 2019, the scheme has included hidden and non-visible conditions -- autism, dementia, serious anxiety, Parkinson's, and more.

You don't need to look disabled to qualify.There are two routes: automatic eligibility (linked to PIP, DLA, or registered blindness) and an assessment route for everyone else. If your condition makes journeys significantly difficult or dangerous, it's worth applying.One thing people miss: if you're over State Pension age and not already on PIP or DLA, you'll need the assessment route.

A letter from your GP or occupational therapist can really strengthen your case.

Six years ago my father in law had a stroke. He welcomed me into the family long before that. So when things got hard, staying beside him wasn’t a question. Every morning carers come. That’s our breath. Caring is hard. Nobody tells you that. This carers week were spotlighting the journeys that happen when taken together.
