Land Rover Defender Interior 💪🏻
Well as you can see, we didn’t have much to work with with these seats! 🤣
Seats were stripped right back, covers and foams all thrown in the bin!
We replaced all the foams for brand new and while we were at it, we added heated seat elements to the base and the back.
Antique Brown leather was used for the covers and we had to make all the templates from scratch for these. As you can see from the shape of the seats, we also added metal flys (metal strips that hold the seams nicely in place) which is something you don’t get as standard with Land Rover interiors. This is the second time I’ve done this with Land Rover seats and adding the shape just makes the seats look so much better!
Instead of having the standard straight edged bottom of the covers, we added some extra details to cover the foam fully but to also follow the shape of the seat.
Metal Land Rover badges have been added to all 3 seats and this might actually be the first Land Rover in the country to have these installed! (Might, don’t quote me!!)
While this wonderful Defender was getting its seats upgraded we also gave the rest of the interior some love to.
Rubber floor added right round the vehicle and the roof, sides and a few other pieces have been carpet lined using black 4 way stretch material (that Daniel can’t touch cos it goes through him 🤣🤣) The 4 way stretch transformed the inside of the vehicle immediately, all the shapes and lines stand out more now and look nice and clean.
The rubber floor was a difficult one as the panels weren’t exactly what you would call straight, it has however made a huge difference and looks great.
Lots of love thrown at this Defender, really happy with how it’s turned out and we’ve made Mr Dan Wheatley a happy man!
He has even said, and I quote ‘I’m not gonna sink it anymore now, I’m going to go easy on it now that the insides done’ we shall see how long that lasts!
It’s was a big job, but we ploughed through and got it done!
