Another big milestone on our incredibly rare Muntz Jet restoration! 👏

The welding repairs are now complete, and the body is back to bare metal, ready for paint preparation.

One of the best parts of stripping a car back is uncovering its history. This Jet has had quite the colourful life! So far we’ve found it was originally finished in a lovely duck egg blue before being repainted pink, then red, and finally cream.

Now comes the fun part… what colour would you choose? 🤔

A little bit of Muntz Jet history… Built between 1950 and 1954 by the Muntz Car Company, the Jet was the brainchild of the flamboyant Earl “Madman” Muntz and was based on a design by Frank Kurtis. Powered by big American V8s and aimed at the luxury market, only around 198 cars were ever produced, making them one of the rarest and most desirable American classics today.
