An interesting job this morning to say the least😎, customer complaint of Tank fault warning on dash, loss of fuel gauge function and intermittent cutting out.
Diagnostic fault scan showed faults in the system for fuel level sensor and low fuel pressure 🤔
Upon removal of the sender unit from the tank we found a considerable amount of blue roll within the fuel tank which had blocked the internal of the sender and the inlet port causing the intermittent cutting out.
After successfully removing the debris from inside the fuel tank and fitting a new sender unit this vehicle was back on the road performing as it should 🚗💨
We also identified that this unit had previously been replaced in April last year which is where this contamination would have occurred. The customer was completely unaware the sender unit was replaced by the previous owner until today.
Safe to say it’s the first time I’ve ever come across this kind of debris in a fuel tank 🙈
