This stunning BMW M5 finished in Isle of Man Green was with us for a single rear wheel diamond cut refurbishment after some unwanted damage to the face.

On a car like this, the repair has to be right. 👌

🔧 Our Face Cut & Lacquer process:

▪️ Wheel removed from the car
▪️ Tyre bead broken away from the rim
▪️ Tyre carefully masked and protected
▪️ Damage repaired and prepared
▪️ Wheel mounted and accurately profiled on our in-house CNC lathe
▪️ Precision cut taken across the face to restore that crisp diamond cut finish
▪️ Finished with a high-quality DTM clear lacquer
▪️ Tyre bead reseated and wheel refitted

⏱️ Typically around 3–4 hours per wheel, making this a great option when the damage is confined to the diamond cut face.

⚠️ Not all wheels or damage are suitable for this service. Deeper damage, corrosion, lacquer failure or wheels that have already been cut multiple times may require a Full Factory Refurbishment instead.

🚐✨ CITROËN SPACETOURER – FULL FACTORY REFURBISHMENT ✨🚐

This Citroën SpaceTourer was with us from one of our commercial clients, getting prepared and ready for the forecourt.

The wheels arrived with us in quite a state and were definitely letting the vehicle down. A quick cosmetic repair wasn’t going to cut it, so they received our Full Factory Refurbishment. 👌

This BYD Seal was with us at JD Wheels for a single wheel diamond cut refurbishment after picking up some unwanted kerb damage.

For damage confined to the diamond cut face, there’s no need for a full factory refurbishment — our Face Cut & Lacquer service gets the wheel back looking sharp again. 👌

🔧 The process:

🏁 MUSTANG VS KERB… THE KERB WON THIS ROUND! 🏁

This stunning Ford Mustang was with us at JD Wheels after a little run-in with a kerb left one of its alloys looking worse for wear. 😬

Fortunately, the damage was suitable for one of our painted wheel repairs.

Rather than a quick patch-up, we:

🎨 Primed and colour matched the repaired area
✨ Lacquered the full face of the wheel for a clean, consistent finish

⚠️ REPLACING YOUR TYRES? THINKING OF PART-WORN… THINK AGAIN! ⚠️

A client with us today for a full powder coat refurbishment had absolutely no idea that one of their part-worn tyres was in this condition until we removed it from the wheel. 😳

Unfortunately, we see this far too often.

The problem with a part-worn tyre is simple — you don’t know its history. You don’t know how it’s been driven, why it was removed from the previous vehicle, what it’s been subjected to or what damage could be hiding where you simply can’t see it.

💷 Saving a few pounds might seem like a bargain… but is it really worth gambling with your safety?

If you are going down the part-worn route, at the very least give the tyres a GOOD check over before they go anywhere near your car.

🔍 Look for:
• Cracking or perishing
• Bulges or lumps in the sidewall
• Cuts, splits or other visible damage
• Uneven or excessive wear
• Previous repairs
• Plenty of legal tread remaining

And remember — not all damage is obvious from the outside. If you’re unsure, get the tyre properly inspected by someone who knows what they’re looking for.

Your tyres are the only four points of contact between your car and the road. Brakes, suspension and driver aids can only do their job if the tyres underneath you are up to the task.

At JD Wheels, if we find a tyre that’s unsafe or illegal while carrying out a refurbishment, we’ll always bring it to your attention — and we won’t refit it.

⚠️ Sometimes saving a few quid simply isn’t worth the risk.

Gloss Black was definitely the colour of choice last week, with multiple full sets through the JD Wheels workshop for complete powder coat refurbishment. 🔥

⚫ Cheap refurbishments… expensive consequences.

This Mercedes GLA was with us today for a full Gloss Black Powder Coat Refurbishment, and what should have been a routine job quickly turned into a challenge.

The wheels had previously been “refurbished” by a dealership, but the quality of the finish was poor. The paint was full of runs, chips and a rough, uneven texture.

To make matters worse, all 10 front wheel bolts had been painted over and were seized solid, adding a significant amount of time to what should have been a straightforward removal. Wheel bolts should never be painted over—it’s simply another example of cutting corners and creates unnecessary problems the next time the wheels need to come off.

A proper refurbishment starts by stripping everything back to bare metal, correcting any previous issues and rebuilding the finish the right way.

Our process:

✔️ Outgas
✔️ Media blast
✔️ Kerb damage removal
✔️ Powder primer
✔️ Gloss Black powder coat
✔️ Powder clear coat

The difference between a quick cosmetic blow-over and a genuine refurbishment is clear to see.
