Due to one of our team moving onto a new adventure, we are once again looking for a qualified/experienced HGV mechanic, with their own tools, to join our small, friendly and hardworking team in our Climping-based workshop. We are looking for someone to join us on a full time basis but we are more than happy to talk to anyone who may only be looking for part time hours.

Duties will include carrying out VOSA-approved Safety Inspections, MOT Preparation and general repairs. Our ideal candidate would be someone who is able to work under their own initiative, as well as within a team. A Class 1 license would be great but it's not essential, however a full driving license would be hugely beneficial as we also attend jobs off-site in our company vans.

We offer competitive rates of pay, along with overtime and holiday
pay.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email/message/call us.

Safe to say that this vehicle wasn't earning the customer any money with the clutch in this condition. Luckily we were able to get it repaired and back out earning its keep.

How is it that time of year already??!! Please find our Christmas Opening Hours below.

We are giving our hardworking team an (unheard of) extra day off this year to spend time with their families so please can all of our customers ensure they book in any necessary Safety Inspections as soon as possible so that we can schedule our team appropriately given the shorter working timeframe - This will mean a first come, first served situation. Please get booked in!!

Many thanks in advance.

Update: We are still without full electric and phone lines but with the help of our generator, the workshop does now have access to the emails so Joanne who handles all of our bookings can be contacted via [email protected].

We have been told that we should have electric and phone lines back by the end of the week so fingers crossed!!

We’d like to take this moment to say thank you to all of our customers for their patience, understanding and manoeuvrability with bookings - We’ll be back to full form very shortly 🙂

30/08/2024

We are currently without electricity so please could all calls be made to either Kev on 07760160193 or Charlotte on 07775671200. We are still contactable through email!!

We also believe that no one is able to enter the estate so if any customers are due to bring their vehicles to us this afternoon, please can you call or email us to confirm whether you can access us later this afternoon. We are more than happy to re-book for another date when it's safe to do so.

28/06/2024

UPDATE: Our phones are back up and running as normal. Thank you for your patience if you’ve attempted to contact us ☺️

To all of our customers, we are having a new phone line activated today and BT have already cut the line so no calls are making it through to us. We’re hoping it won’t be too long before we’re back up and running but in the meantime, we are still able to access our emails so please can all queries/breakdowns be emailed temporarily?

Our bookings email address is [email protected].

For all other queries, the email address is [email protected]

We really appreciate your patience whilst we get over this little hurdle ☺️

The latest Investment for our workshop.... A 100 tonne mobile kingpin press. We got fed up keep having to take axles out and sending them away. So now it's all in house.

We have finally found a spare second in our busy diary to share this wonderful news!

We’re very excited to announce that we have been working with Petworth CofE Primary School to design a summer sports kit for all of the incredible pupils at the school so that they can keep their cool whilst representing the school in various areas of sport.

A HUGE ‘Thank You’ to all of the children pictured, who very kindly agreed to model the kit as soon as it arrived - Including the two smallest members of the Wadey Commercials team 🥰

This is just a small, polite note to our customers and Facebook followers owing to a few difficulties that we have experienced recently.

Due to an update on the 18th April 2023, the Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness (the page is pictured below), now stipulates that EVERY safety inspection/PMI must now have some form of braking performance test. These are not rules that we, as a company, have made up! They are rules put in place by DVSA. If, as a customer, you don’t want a brake test at every inspection then the onus is on you and the DVSA have advised us to write on each inspection sheet that no test has been carried out as per customer request.

We have tried our absolute best to inform all of our customers of this update but feel that this is the last attempt for those who would rather stick to the previous guidance of four times per year.

If anyone would like any further information, please follow the link below which will go straight to the Guide to Maintaining Road Worthiness. The page related to Brake Testing (shown in the screenshot below) is Page 52.

And the Boss is back and working (Kind of!)

Firstly, huge thanks to everyone who sent messages!!

Secondly, we can’t thank our customers enough for their patience and support during this difficult and unexpected time. We sincerely apologise if this has caused any disruption to any of you and will do our best to get things back on track as soon as physically possible.

Lastly, one of the reasons we have been able to give 100% to Kev and his care and all of the trips to hospital is because we have the most incredible team behind us. This week would have been so much harder if we’d had to worry about the workshop too so ‘THANK YOU!!!!’ so, so much to everyone on our team - You’re all awesome!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my customers for their patience, understanding and also their kind words of support. I was taken into hospital on Sunday and have been kept in since, with still a couple of days to go. But I had the necessary operation in the early hours of this morning, so hopefully I've turned the corner.
I also would like to thank my fantastic team who turned up for work on Monday to find out I wasn't to be there, so they were a Man down for what was already a busy week, but in my opinion they have all gone above and beyond and really done all they could to try and keep everything moving.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be released from hospital over the weekend, but it could still be a while until I'm back to active duty, so your ongoing patience will still be greatly appreciated, and we will hopefully be back to normal soon.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, I am still able to hold a phone.
