There’s nothing like a bit of 80s nostalgia to start the week!

This 1982 BMW E21 320 was sold within 24 hours and delivered to its new owner last week who intends to smarten it up and use it as a daily driver this summer.

1961 Land Rover Series 2A

Offered for sale is this charming early 1961 Series 2A, considered by many to be the best variation of the Series Land Rover.

The car has undergone extensive work in our ownership including new footwells, A-pillar repairs, minor chassis repairs, wiring, engine electrics, engine servicing, new wings and rear door, front door repairs, new door tops, all new hard top seals, new wheels, inner tubes and tyres.
It’s now a very useable early 1960s classic Land Rover, perfect for the springtime.

Original wheels, trim rings, hub caps, bumpers, gear stick, coil and distributor are included in the sale.
Complete original interior in excellent overall condition.
Body needs a considerable amount of welding but it’s cheap!

Another great little Beetle sold and off to it’s new owner early next week.

This example is a 1964 Portuguese import that was subject to a comprehensive structural rebuild by HR Autoworks London including all new heater channels, floor pans, inner wheel arches and a full braking system rebuild. As you can see from the pictures, the work was carried out to an excellent standard and the beetle is ready to be registered and after a few finishing touches, put back on the road and enjoyed.

I found this 1963 UK RHD “ragtop” beetle in a field in Ibiza of all places during Spring of 2019.
I was driving down the road from Ibiza town to Santa Eulària when I passed by a field of Citroen 2CVs and quickly turned around to investigate. I found the land owner (a very nice German chap called Gunter) and asked if I could have a look around and he said yes. Amongst the sea of 2CVs and Meharis I spotted this little gem tucked in the corner. Nature had began to take control of the poor little beetle and I was adamant I was going to save it. It almost went over my head that I was looking at a right hand drive car as it’s what I was used to seeing everyday in the UK. It wasn’t until the land owner pointed it out to me and told me the car had driven over from England at some point in the 1980s that I realised I was looking at a very rare sight indeed. It was unfortunate that I was told the car came with no history so that story couldn’t be backed up. I asked if he’d sell it to me, he said yes, we agreed on a price and I went on with my holiday.
Fast forward 3 years and several failed attempts due to lovely old COVID, I finally had a time pocket where France, England and Spain weren’t locked down or restricted. I quickly found a vehicle transporter and booked a flight to Ibiza to bring the Beete home.
The day had finally come to load the beetle and take it back to the uk and it was exactly as I remembered it. Sat in the corner, half eaten by a bush and looking rather sorry for itself. Chris the car transporter backed up the trailer and winched the beetle on with ease and began his journey back to the UK.
I was then told there was a folder that the land owner had found whilst digging through some drawers containing some history about the beetles life in the UK which was very eliciting.

I read the address on the old V5 document and to my absolute shock it read:

This car had lived the first 20-30 years less than a mile from my workshop on the same road! I had no idea prior to seeing the folder on the day after purchasing the beetle 3 years before with the view it had no paperwork with it. What a weird coincidence!

The beetle is now with HR Autoworks in South London waiting to be restored to the highest standard as it deserves.

“The first person to view will buy” is a phrase thrown around in car ads all over the internet and in the case of this 1957 Austin-Healey 100/6 it was true.

This period rally homage certainly looks the part with it’s vented wings, minilite wheels, spot lights and side exit exhaust. The Healey sold within 3 days of arrival and now resides with it’s new owner. Plenty more exciting classics will be coming up for sale this winter so keep your eyes peeled!

Don’t worry, I’m not going mad. I spent the summer cruising round Northern Scotland in a friends MKii MX-5 and developed a soft spot for these brilliant little sports cars. Here’s some info about this example:

Bodywork is excellent overall.
The paintwork has a few minor stone chips but is otherwise excellent.
The engine and gearbox are faultless and operate perfectly.
The interior is totally immaculate bar some carpet wear in the drivers side footwell.
Every element of the car works perfectly and it’s a wonderful car to drive. These cars really retain the spirit of the older generation MX-5s.

Take a look at this lovely Land Rover we recently sold to the Goodwood Estate for use on their off-road experience track at Goodwood Motor Circuit. After a good bit of fettling and a few new shiny bits she’ll be ready for the public to try their hand at some classic off-roading! 1973 Lotus Elan plus 2 130/5

Here offered for sale is this brilliant Elan +2s with just 52,000 miles from new.

The car was subject to a comprehensive body-off restoration by SJ Sportscars amounting to over £9000 in 1999 including a full engine rebuild, a new galvanised chassis and a total strip down and reassembly of all the running gear and suspension. There is a folder of pictures, invoices and letters which explain in detail the work that was carried out. Since the mechanical restoration the car has covered very little mileage and all the components remain in excellent condition.

The Elan is fitted with the big valve 130 horsepower 1600 twin cam engine which keeps good temperature, oil pressure and is free of knocks and rattles. 130 horsepower in a car that weighs sub-900 kilograms makes for a very exciting driving experience indeed!

The car runs, drives, stops and starts but will require a tune, service and check-over before road use. 4 new rotoflex couplings were fitted to the drive shafts last week.
I’ve installed a new headlight vacuum and solenoid which I have yet to connect properly, but the vacuum pulls the lights down as it should when the car is running.
The car is running cosmic wheels with 4 matching good year tyres in good condition.

The body and paint on the car are showing their age but I really love the rough and ready look of it. After all these cars are all about the performance and not shiny paintwork! The car has had a sunroof fitted at some point which functions as it should and doesn’t leak.

The interior is complete and in good condition. All the gauges function as they should, and the dash is in good condition apart from some separation in the veneer. The car comes complete with a brand-new dashboard if you wish to swap it over. The car also comes with a bespoke fitted storage cover.

I had the pleasure of owning this very special 1955 post barn door splitscreen for a short time but an unmissable opportunity caused a very reluctant sale to a restorer who specialises in classic Volkswagens. The shell was found by the previous owner 10 years ago on his travels in Morocco and brought back to the UK where he began a complete restoration. I purchased the car with the intention of preserving the body as is and fully restoring the original running gear. The gentleman who purchased the bus is intending to do the exact same as me so hopefully I’ll run in to the van at the shows next year (I can’t guarantee I’ll not try and buy it back!).
