As you all know by now, I've closed DUB Plus-but I'm still within the leisure industry 😉

I'm longer on the tools, for which my knees are very grateful for 😂

With over 50 years in the industry SMC Motorhomes Newark where I'm helping in the bodyshop, are more than capable of carrying out tasks on any leisure vehicle.

Be it a simple doginostic, full vehicle service, habitation check, bodywork on not just smaller motorhomes but the lager A Class upto 9m vans. Any extra imaginable you require for any make of camper or motorhome, our supply network is huge - after 50 years of sales/repair there isn't a supply we cannot supply through.

We also have a couple of Drivelodge roofs in stock ready to fit to your SWB Transporters.

I'll be sharing a few jobs of over the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled. We have a Frankia nearly completion that blew my mind how our bodyshop lads rebuild the damage 👌

Celebrating the Journey: A Farewell to DUB Plus

The "Final Edition" DUB Plus build has found its way home with Dave and Shirl, marking a bittersweet moment of triumph and adios.

This brand-new LWB DSG Crafter, delivered straight from the dealership, represents a shared vision between the ourselves and the owners, a testament to the collaborative spirit that has driven our business.

Ending on a high note, this build encapsulates the essence of what DUB Plus stood for—innovation, quality, and a deep understanding of our customers dreams.

The decision to close the business, influenced by the desire for family time and rest was not an easy one decision by a long way, but we felt the right one.

Looking through our socials last night fillled me with a huge sense of achievement and pride. Knowing the team past and present helped our vision of building one off campers for great people.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the customers, friends, and family who have supported the journey over the years. Your recommendations and trust have been the cornerstone of DUB Plus's success. Our network of suppliers, too, deserves immense gratitude for their role in making these dream campers a reality.

Thank you, and we hope to see you camping in a field somewhere soon - DUB Plus 🫡

Andrews Transit Custom left us Friday supporting a few new additions. Yet another self builder helped with the "tricky bits"

☑️Bi fold bed and pull over section in light carpet
☑️Fiamma F45s awning
☑️Glass all around with 2 x rear fakes to the rear side panels

Now Andrew has all the the tricky bits sorted, it's down to him now to finish the interior 👌

We couldn't help Chris with the horrendous drive to us from King's Lynn today to collect, but we could help him with a few parts of his self build he couldn't manage himself.😎

☑️Skyline Aurora in gloss black polished cap
☑️Burgundy scenic canvas
☑️Bi fold bed and pull over section.
☑️Full metalwork carpet line
☑️Our glass man fixed a couple of leaky windows
☑️We supplied a full by set for the walls and we threw in some carpet too
☑️New 1 peice 12mm floor covered in slate oak wood effect altro
☑️EVO R smart bed upholstered in GTD fabric
☑️Lighting and USB light package
☑️Lop4 battery, DC to Dc charger with built in MPPT just to future proof his build

We now pass to the build to Chris so he can finish off what he needs.💪

It's always great helping self builders, in all honesty we've all asked for help at some point on previous builds. Sometimes you just need that professional touch🪄

Jamie's lovely T5.1 hit the road running ready for the weekend 👌

His van came to us after having a pop top fitted elsewhere. We finished the inside off with -

☑️Full carpet line in anthracite carpet
☑️In house cut CNC side and full height door panels, also covered in anthracite
☑️Our own U Shaped interior using Stone Grey lightweight ply, Wi******er oak worktop, table and window surrounds
☑️Matching upholstery in the rear to match the front Audi S Line seats.
☑️Van shade fitted to window surround
☑️50 litre Compressor fridge, 12v lighting, led strip to overhead storage. 240v wires with hook up under bonnet.

A couple of happy campers left us this week 😀

First off, SWB T6 in for some Skyline treatment.

☑️SWB standard roof in polished black
☑️Black scenic canvas
☑️Bi fold bed and pull over section
☑️Roof bars swapped over to roof
☑️4x led lights and USB map light
☑️bracing and roof carpeted in light carpet to match the old ceiling

Next up a lovely T5.1 had a nasty little bump with an animal in the road.
Rather than go through insurance the customer came directly to us to carry out the repairs .
The camper left us with looking as new with better parts than it arrived with.

All in all 2 very happy customers, both able to hit the road on their adventures ⛺

It's always a pleasure and a privilege to be featured in the VWt Magazine 😎

Even more so when the build features is for a genuinely top gent like Alan.

Alan needed a van for his European and UK track days, somewhere to store his bike during traveling. Plus a place to chill in between sessions.

This van does all that and more for Al.

With an every growing family, James came to us for a solution.
He was lucky enough we had a set of Kombi seats with perfect matching trim in stock for him ready and waiting👌
Moving the treble seat to the rear position using the factory mounting, adding a new 2 plus 1 to the front position now allows the whole family to enjoy the ride.
New rear opening 1/4 glass on both sides (much needed in this weather 🌞)

Mark's words rung true more than ever today when he collected earlier ☺️

"it must be great job satisfaction when youve completed a job like this. Turned an old builders van into a superb multi use vehicle"

I just smiled and replied "yes that's why we do it"

Mark's retired work van is now be able to carry his race bikes to track, take his family away on jollies or a day in the woods with his push bike.

We treated it to-

☑️New sliding door glass (original was leaking as per)
☑️Surrounds for both side glasses
☑️Full sound deadening to sides, doors, roof and arches
☑️5.5mm cnc cut side panels
☑️1 peice 5.5mm roof with 6 x spot leds
☑️Build a structure to hold his bike rack on the NSR panel
☑️New 1 peice 12mm floor covered in gret alteo, also added more lashing points for his motorbikes to be secured correctly
☑️New side and rear thresholds to floor
☑️ Fitted supplied by Mark, roof bars, barn door spoilers, awning rail and front bumper splitter.

We do this not just for the gratitude but so people cab make the most out of their spare time.

Mike's super clean Kombi left us this afternoon, feeling a little more luxurious than when it arrived.

We treated it to-

☑️ Full sound deadening to all walls, doors, ceiling, flooring both cab and rear, front doors, cab roof, arches inside and out plus the arch liners.
☑️New 5.5 mm inhouse CNC cut panels, all covered in anthracite fire retardent carpet.
☑️HALO roof kit with light genuine grey alcantara centre, finished off with dark carpet sides.
☑️6 X small led lights to roof plus dimmable halo led strip.
☑️Metalwork also covered in anthracite carpet.
☑️Rear speaker pods and speakers wired to factory head unit, Ecu updated to allow fading to rear speakers.

With the above now complete, the noise level whilst driving will be much better. We look forward to seeing Mike for his next appointment, head unit, front speaker upgrades plus more.
