JG Racing

JG Racing JG Racing started with two close friends, a shared love for cars, and way too many late nights in the unit.

What began as a hobby quickly turned into a full-on passion for building and racingโ€”and the Honda Civic EP3 quickly became our weapon of choice. The ECU or Engine Control Unit is essentially your vehicle's brain, it monitors, adjusts and optimises the operations of your engine and therefore the amount of power and economy your vehicle is capable of. Vehicle ECU's leave the manufacturer with a 'sta

ndard map' which will limit your vehicle's performance and economy to meet the manufacture's standard. A 'map' is the software that is loaded onto the vehicle's ECU which measures and controls the hardware component's of your vehicle's engine. A 'remap or remapping' is essentially when the software loaded onto your vehicle's ECU is altered to increase the parameters at which your engine will operate. This in turn can increase your vehicles overall performance giving you better fuel economy, more engine torque and an increase in horsepower. All of this can be achieved safely, the changes in software we offer simply allow your engine to optimise the three P's... Potential, Performance & Power - without compromise and limitations. We only use and believe in the best, that's why we use the expertise of 'topgear-tuning.com' who write the software using their vast and extensive knowledge base, meaning your vehicle can perform how it should and you can be confident the job is done right. G7J are passionate about our service, we fully believe in the customer is always right, meaning if you aren't fully satisfied with the work we have carried out we will do everything in our power to correct it for you.

SILVERSTONE โ€” JG RACING WEEKEND REPORT ๐Ÿ

After a difficult Donington weekend that saw both #300 and #301 leave with DNFs, Silverstone was all about bouncing back, making progress and getting two cars across the finish line.

And thatโ€™s exactly what we did. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

For Josh in #300, the electrical problems that caused his DNF at Donington unfortunately followed us to Silverstone. We were still chasing the fault throughout the weekend, meaning Josh was having to manage a car that still wasnโ€™t 100%.

Race 1 then brought another setback almost immediately, with contact at the first corner adding to an already challenging weekend.

Despite all of that, Josh kept pushing, kept the car going and came away with two fantastic results:

๐Ÿ Race 1 โ€” P5 in Class B
๐Ÿ† Race 2 โ€” P3 in Class B

To bounce back from the electrical issues, first-corner contact and everything else thrown at him and still put #300 on the podium in Race 2 was a massive result.

For Gareth in #301, Silverstone was about something slightly different.

After the setbacks at Donington, the targets werenโ€™t simply based around finishing positions. The aim was to rebuild confidence, trust the car again, complete both races and make genuine progress behind the wheel.

Qualifying left plenty on the table with a 1:25.515, but once the racing started, the pace began to come.

๐Ÿ Race 1 โ€” P10 in Class B
โฑ๏ธ Best lap โ€” 1:22.822

๐Ÿ Race 2 โ€” P6 in Class B
โฑ๏ธ Best lap โ€” 1:22.857

Nearly 2.7 seconds found from qualifying to Race 1, two races completed and, most importantly, every personal target set before the weekend was achieved.

But the biggest result was getting the confidence back, trusting the car again and rediscovering the love for racing.

After two DNFs at Donington, both sides of the JG Racing had something to prove at Silverstone.

We leave with four race finishes, a P3 podium for #300, P6 for #301, personal targets achieved and genuine progress across the whole team.

There are still problems to solve and plenty more pace to find.

But this weekend felt like a proper turning point.

Croft Race Circuit overview ๐Ÿคฏ

What a weekend of ups and downs!
The weather was not on our side on Saturday we was currently sitting in p3 when josh aqua planed into the gravel trap on race 1 resulting in a DNF for the first race.

Second race - working from the back we had a great start and managed to make up 4 positions in the first corner. Car was on rails and we finished the race in p4 in class.

Race 3 - another fantastic start with a bit of mayhem in the first corner but managed to come out un scathed. Had some fantastic battles and came home with a p3 in class resulting in a podium ๐ŸŽ๏ธโœ…

A fantastic weekend thanks to 750MC - Hot Hatch Championship Performance Brake Solutions
