No Clutch results in an unhappy owner and waiting upon their recovery.
We received a call from Andy at A 2 Anywhere Ltd asking if a fleet van could be delivered to our workshop for an investigation and submit costs.
We swiftly looked at this van on its arrival and found that it was the clutch master cylinder that was very worn causing it to come off the pedal along with a slight fluid leak so we submitted costs.
We fitted a new clutch master cylinder with the relevant clip along with a clutch bleed to complete the job and with a test drive the job was signed off and completed ready for it to be driven away by our client

Renault Master which was taken off the road is repaired on site with very little downtime.
We attended this Renault Master on behalf of Beerhouse Vehicle Rental at their clients Road Traffic Solutions Ltd for an issue with the brakes worn very uneven.
We investigated this and found the caliper had seized on one side and the other caliper was sticking on causing uneven pads during our inspection we found that both handbrake cables were fraying on the ends so we replaced both calipers and both handbrake cables along with a set of rear discs and pads.
The job was completed with a brake system bleed and a full handbrake adjustment prior to a test drive to confirm the safety of the vehicle.
Once the above was completed the client took for a drive to make sure he was satisfied...
Due to us attending this on site and completing all repairs within hours it saved the company loosing the van for a long period of time

Peugeot Boxer on behalf of Close Brothers Vehicle Hire.
This was reported by close brothers that one of their clients had a starting issue with this van along with a service light on the dash.
We attended to this at the DPD site and carried out an investigation to find a a faulty starter motor so we replaced the starter motor along with oil and filter replacement which was all carried out on site within time for the van to return back to delivering parcels.

Renault Master Brakes warning light resolved
This Renault master was reported to us for having a check brake pads light on the dash even tho a service done recently indicated that the brakes were all in good health so required attention to find the issue. We arrived on site and removed all the wheels confirming that the discs and pads had no issues but we found that a sensor wire had snapped causing the dash warning so we repaired the loom which has resolved the issue and put our clients mind at rest knowing it was just a wiring fault rather then fault with the pads.

No rest for the wicked
This Mercedes sprinter was suffering with fuel issues due to faulty injectors.
We attended this van at the time convenient for our client to which we installed 4 new injectors including full programming to the ecu.
We then finished this off with a test drive to confirm our work was complete

No recovery required!!!!
We attended this Ford Transit for issues with the front wheel bearings being faulty causing one wheel to be locked.
We attended on site and removed the hubs to which we brought the hubs back to our workshop to be placed onto our press for the hubs to be removed and pressed into new bearings then we returned to our clients home address and refitted the hub bearings back to the van allowing the van to be used to it's potential.
We managed to save the customer a costly recovery due to the location of the van to which a recovery truck would have struggled to access safely

This Ford Transit Custom was suffering some issues which turned into some extra work required
We had a report from Close Brothers Vehicle Hire saying their customer had reported this van for having a juddering issue when starting.
We attended this van in Sheffield and found more issues with the van and brought it to the attention of close brothers to which it was authorized for an immediate recovery into our workshop so it could have all the defects rectified but during the recovery process close brothers instructed one of their own inspectors to come and look at this vehicle before we carried out the extra work found and with this van only being 4 years old.
After they visited the van they confirmed that the overall condition of the van with the mileage met the requirements to proceed with the work required so we started the repairs.
The van had the following work carried out:
Front pads due to being below 10%
Oil sump removed cleaned then reseals due to a major oil leak coming from the gasket
Flywheel and clutch kit due to a defective flywheel causing the original vibrations
Ignition switch to solve the faulty ignition causing the van to turn off when tapping the key
Drivers front driveshaft due to previous being tack welded and on removing this caused damage to the threads
Following on from these repairs we completed a test drive and confirmed that all found defects were complete and ready for close brothers to action it's return.
Be sure to keep your vehicle in top condition and monitor your fluids as within our team we see some vans and cars less the 12 months old having issues like the above which of course the majority is covered under the 3 year warranty but if it is not brought to your attention then maybe you should see about a health check to confirm the condition of your vehicle specially before your warranty runs out

Mercedes Sprinter MOT ready
We attended this Mercedes Sprinter on behalf of Sixt at their customers yard in hull.
We carried out a routine service and upon our inspection we found that the brake discs and pads all round were worn with very little remaining so we called sixt who immediately authorised a full set of discs and pads due to the van having it's first MOT done that afternoon.
So we did a full service and a full set of discs and pads along with readjusting the handbrake.
This van was later taken for an MOT test and passed with no advisories meaning the customer was fully road legal and back on the road
All of our service packages come with a brake wear check to advise of any issues before it's too late.

Medical delivery put back onto schedule
This vauxhall movano that is used for delivery of medicines and other equipment had an issue with the brakes causing this to have to be removed from its duty due to safety concerns.
We swiftly attended to find that the rear pads were below 5% on one side and other side was 80% meaning this had a major imbalance across the rear axle. We investigated this and found that the rear caliper sliders on one side were seized causing the imbalance.
We fitted a new set of pads and installed a fresh set of sliders along with a full brake check which was all carried out on site and in time for it to be loaded with the next delivery route.

Warranty at its finest
We were requested by our client to attend to their customers site due to an ad blue fault and EML on this Peugeot Partner
We were informed that this is under warranty and already booked in with the dealer for software issue causing the malfunction but due to the waiting time to get it into the local dealer they wanted us to attend to carry out a reset of the ad blue system and clear the EML which with previous garages doing the same it lasts around 2000 miles which is enough to see the customers requirements through until the dealer appointment.

2021 Vauxhall movano was due to be taken off the road over engine concerns.
We attended this Vauxhall on behalf of our client at their customers address following a report of an oil top up required and the bonnet release had failed which without being able to check the oil would result the company from loosing the use of this van untill it could be taken in to be repaired allowing access.
On our arrival we found that the cable along with the bonnet catch had failed and with everything being fastened from under the bonnet we were given permission by the lease company to break into the bonnet but in an order which would cause minimal damage along with the end result wanted the van safe to use.
With this in mind we cut a small hole in the grill allowing access for special tools to reach the bonnet catch allowing a manual release.
Oil topped up and confirmed no leaks and a temperamental smaller cable fitted to allow access for the customer before the replacement cable and release catch is replaced which on a further attendance a new grill shall also be fitted to finish off the job
Another happy customer and a happy lease company knowing the only further damage was a grill which by all means is absolutely fine and legal as it was left.
