Tyre pressure - does it really matter? Absolutely.

Correct tyre pressures help your car perform as it should, affecting everything from grip and braking to fuel economy and tyre wear.

Driving with pressures that are too high or too low can lead to:
✅ Reduced grip and handling
✅ Uneven or faster tyre wear
✅ Increased fuel consumption
✅ Longer braking distances

Tyre pressures can also change as temperatures drop, so it is worth checking them regularly.

Feeling more bounce than drive?

If your car feels unusually bouncy, unsettled over bumps or less stable through corners, worn shock absorbers could be the cause.

MOT failed on emissions? Don’t panic.

An emissions failure doesn’t automatically mean an expensive repair.

There are several possible causes, from a faulty sensor or ignition issue to problems with the exhaust, catalytic converter or engine management system.

The important thing is finding out why the emissions are too high rather than simply replacing parts and hoping for the best.

Nail in your tyre... does it mean you need a new one?

Not necessarily.

Depending on where the puncture is, its size and the overall condition of the tyre, it may be safely repairable. If the damage is too close to the sidewall or outside the permitted repair area, replacement will usually be the safer option.

The important thing is not to ignore it. Even if the tyre appears to be holding pressure, that nail could still be causing a slow leak.

Pop in and let us take a look. We’ll check the tyre and let you know whether a safe repair is possible or if replacement is needed.

Your suspension should absorb bumps and keep the car settled. If it continues to bounce after going over uneven roads, your shock absorbers could be worn.

Other signs to look out for include knocking noises, excessive body roll, uneven tyre wear or the front of the car dipping heavily when braking.

If something doesn’t feel quite right, it’s worth getting it checked before a small problem becomes a bigger one.
