We’re delighted to introduce all three instructors of John Lamb Driver Training, namely John Lamb, Lindsey Blyth and the newest addition to our team, Jim Anderson

All three instructors hold a Protection of vulnerable Groups (PVG) certificate, all three instructors are retired Police officers (additionally John and Lindsey both served as Traffic officers, Lindsey and Jim both attained the rank of Sergeant).

We pride ourselves on passing on the best of driving habits to our pupils and indeed share some advanced driving techniques to help keep our pupils safer on the road.

We can offer motorway driving training. Although driving tests from Kirkcaldy will not go to the M90 motorway, we can provide additional training to prepare our pupils for safe driving on their own.

We believe this to be important preparation for our pupils, especially as the Pass Plus scheme is no longer available through Fife Council.

We also offer advice and guidance on preparing for your theory test. Although it’s not required to pass the theory before starting lessons, the sooner you pass the theory the sooner you can book your practical test. Currently (Jan 2026) the time delay for a driving test is around 6 months.

We cover Lundin Links, Levenmouth, Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes areas. Outwith these areas can sometimes be catered for by mutual arrangements with your allocated instructor.

We generally work on a Monday to Thursday between 0800 and 1700. However we do have some flexibility.

Currently our prices are £45 per hour. If you pay in advance for a block of 10 hours (£450) you get a discount price of £430, or a block of 5 hours (£225) you get a discount price of £215.
