Great start to a thursday , pupil turns up at test centre and heads out to start his test , comes back 5 mins later as someone ran into the back of him, everyone was fine but no car for me until i get a replacement so will be contacting everyone that’s got lessons booked and the poor pupil has to wait for another test

We’re putting learners in control of their car driving test bookings 🚘

If you’ve got a booking or you’ll be looking for a test soon, make a note of these dates 📅

31 March 2026 – only 2 changes can be made to a booking

12 May 2026 – only learners are allowed to book a test and make changes

9 June 2026 – learners can move their booked test only to nearby centres

By changing who can book car and change driving tests, we’re aiming to reduce the re-selling of driving tests, giving the power back to learners 💪

🚶‍♂️🚗 20mph speed limits planned to improve road safety in Kirkcaldy

Lower vehicle speeds can make a significant difference to safety on our roads. That’s why Fife Council is planning to introduce 20mph speed limits on a number of streets across Kirkcaldy.

Similar schemes are already in place elsewhere in Fife. A list of streets for Kirkcaldy has now been published so people can see what’s included and identify any roads that may have been missed.

Evidence shows that lower speeds reduce the risk of serious injury, while typically adding very little to overall journey times.

Help keep Kirkcaldy residents, Ang Paterson and Sophie cross the road safely. Don’t forget to let us know if we’ve missed any roads. You can see the list of streets at www.fife.gov.uk/kirkcaldy20mph

The deadline to let us know if you think any roads are missing is Monday 13 April 2026.

Information gathered now will help inform the next stage of the process.
