We are alloygators and Rimblades supplier and fitter
What are AlloyGators
AlloyGators are aftermarket wheel-rim protectors that fit between a car's tyre and alloy wheel. Their purpose is to help prevent or reduce damage from kerbs, potholes, and minor impacts that can otherwise scratch or gouge alloy wheels.
Key points:
Made from a tough nylon composite material designed to absorb impacts.
Installed around the edge of the wheel, secured with clips and a locking system rather than simply sticking onto the rims
Available in 15 different colours, so some drivers use them for styling as well as protection.
Intended to reduce the need for expensive alloy wheel refurbishments after minor kerb scrapes.
Rimblades are adhesive strips that stick to the outer edge of your alloy wheels to help protect them from kerb damage and scuffs. They also add a subtle styling accent if you choose a contrasting colour.
Compared with AlloyGators (which you asked about before):
Rimblades stick directly to the wheel with strong adhesive.
AlloyGators fit between the tyre and wheel, so they usually offer more protection against harder kerb impacts but are more involved to install.
Pros of Rimblades:
Easy to fit yourself.
Available in several colours.
Help reduce cosmetic kerb damage.
No need to remove the tyre.
Cons:
They won't protect against heavy impacts.
They can peel off if not fitted carefully or if the wheel isn't cleaned thoroughly beforehand.
They may not suit every wheel design.
For your 2012 Subaru Legacy B-Spec, Rimblades can work well if your wheels have a reasonably smooth outer rim for the adhesive to bond to.
If you're deciding between Rimblades and AlloyGators, I'd generally recommend:
Rimblades if you want easy DIY fitting and mainly want protection from light scrapes.
AlloyGators if maximum protection is your priority and you don't mind the more involved installation.
Are you looking to protect your existing wheels, or are you trying to cover up kerb damage that's already there?
