Mercedes C280 W202 in for some overdue love.

Vehicle came in with rear-end instability — noticeable crabbing on certain road surfaces. On inspection, we found excessive movement in the lower rear hub knuckle bush, and the upper control arm bush had completely separated from the arm.

✔️ Replaced both rear bushes
✔️ Fitted a new set of rear control arms

Now driving straight, stable, and safe again 👌

We don’t normally take on mobile jobs as we’re usually workshop-based, but this one was for a close family friend who’s helped us out with our workshop more than once over the years — so of course we were happy to return the favour. 🤝

We attended a Fiat Panda that had been sitting for a few weeks while the owner recovered from an injury and was unable to drive. When we arrived, all four tyres were completely flat as a pancake, sitting on the rims.
Our first thought was simply to get some air in them and get the car mobile again.

Unfortunately, we quickly discovered that some clown had gone out of their way to slash all four tyre sidewalls. 🤦‍♂️

No problem though — the car was jacked up, all four wheels removed and taken back to our workshop where we fitted and balanced four brand new tyres. We then returned and refitted all four wheels back onto the vehicle so it was ready to go again.

Not a job we usually do, but always happy to help good people when they need it. 🚗🔧

🚗 Volkswagen Polo – Rear Brake Noise Sorted! 🔧

This Volkswagen Polo came in with a noise coming from the rear brakes. After inspection, it turned out the brakes were heavily contaminated with brake dust and debris due to a lack of recent servicing.

There was also an advisory on the latest MOT noting that the NSR (near side rear) service brake was binding. On strip-down, we found one of the pistons in the wheel cylinder had seized, causing the brake to stick.

✅ NSR wheel cylinder replaced
✅ Brake system bled
✅ Both sides cleaned thoroughly
✅ Contact points lightly greased
✅ Handbrake adjusted

All back together and working exactly as it should – safe and smooth on the road again. 👍

Another one through the workshop today 🔧

This Vauxhall Adam was in for its annual service, where we carried out a full/major service and a visual health check to make sure everything is running as it should.

Jobs completed:
• Oil & filter change
• Air filter replaced
• Cabin filter replaced
• Spark plugs replaced
• New sump plug fitted
• Rear brakes inspected and adjusted where needed

🚐 Ford Transit – Full Exhaust, DPF & EGR Repair Completed 🔧

This Ford Transit came into the workshop for a DPF and exhaust system replacement — but as with many jobs, diagnostics told the full story 👨‍🔧

✅ New Genuine DPF supplied & fitted
✅ New centre silencer & tail pipe
✅ All 3 sensors replaced (2 temp sensors & top lambda sensor)
✅ New genuine vaporiser fitted
✅ Passenger front CV boot replaced
✅ MOT required

After road testing, the EML came back on. Diagnostics showed EGR valve stuck closed.

🚗 Another MOT Pass ✅

This Ford Focus came in primarily for an OSF wheel bearing, which was originally noted during its service at the start of the new year. With the MOT due, the customer brought the car back in so we could address the issue and carry out any required repairs.

🔧 Work completed:

OSF wheel bearing found noisy and rough on rotation — replaced
Front brake pads down to 2mm friction material (only 0.5mm legal limit remaining)
Front discs heavily corroded
Seized front caliper prevented pad replacement — caliper replaced
Brand new front discs and pads fitted

We’re pleased to say the car passed its MOT and is back on the road safely 🙌
