🔧 Another fault found and fixed at JD Car Care! 🚗

A customer came to us with a warning light on the dashboard. Our initial diagnostic scan suggested a misfire on one of the cylinders.

With no service history available, we carried out further checks by removing the coil pack and inspecting the spark plugs. We quickly found the cause — a leaking rocker cover gasket had allowed oil to fill the spark plug wells, causing the misfire.

We explained the fault to the customer, advised on the repairs needed to get the vehicle safely back on the road, and received the go-ahead to carry out the work. 🔧✅

Another problem diagnosed properly rather than simply replacing parts and hoping for the best!

🔧 Parking Sensor Fault Diagnosed! 🚗

This vehicle came into JD Car Care with a parking sensor fault.

We plugged in our diagnostic equipment and found a fault code relating to the parking sensor ECU.

After checking the live data, we confirmed the ECU was receiving the correct voltage, but it wasn’t outputting the correct voltage — pointing towards an internal ECU fault.

We removed the ECU for further inspection and found a failed component on the circuit board.

After confirming the fault, we advised the customer that a replacement ECU was required.

Another fault correctly diagnosed using proper testing rather than simply replacing parts and hoping for the best! ✅

🚗🔧 That knocking noise isn’t always what you think!

A customer brought their car into JD Car Care with a knocking noise coming from the suspension.

First, we checked for play in the ball joints — no play found anywhere. ✅

After a road test and listening carefully to the noise, we suspected the shock absorber had internal play.

We stripped it down to confirm the fault… and we were right! 👨‍🔧

🚗 Road tested
👍 All sorted!

This vehicle came into JD Car Care with multiple warning lights showing on the dashboard.

We carried out a diagnostic check and found a fault with the near-side rear ABS sensor.

Although an ABS sensor may seem like a simple component, a fault with one sensor can trigger multiple warning lights and other related issues across the vehicle.

🔧 5th Gear Failure – Repair Completed! 🚗

This vehicle came into JD Car Care with a loss of 5th gear.

After inspection, we found the 5th gear teeth had stripped, causing the loss of gear. We contacted the customer, explained our findings and advised on the best repair.

The gearbox was flushed and the damaged gears were replaced with genuine parts supplied by the main dealer.

Once completed, we carried out a full road test and everything was working as it should. ✅

Another gearbox issue diagnosed, repaired and back on the road! 💪

🔧 Sometimes the smallest parts cause the biggest problems! 🔧

This vehicle came to us with a clutch pedal fault. After carrying out our initial inspection, we diagnosed a faulty clutch master cylinder.

Unfortunately, the replacement part had to be ordered directly from the dealer, which meant a slight delay before we could get the repair completed. Once the new part arrived, we fitted it, tested the vehicle, and everything appeared to be working perfectly.

However, after the customer collected the car, they contacted us to say the clutch pedal had become unresponsive again.

The vehicle came back to us for further investigation, and we discovered the real culprit… a tiny piece of plastic lodged inside the pipe, restricting the flow and causing the clutch pedal fault. Even more frustrating, it turned out the brand-new replacement part was faulty!

It’s a great reminder that even new parts can sometimes fail, which is why we always stand by our work and continue investigating until the issue is fully resolved.
