Due to some health challenges (nothing very serious, please don't worry), unfortunately we have decided that we will be closing our doors at the end of October. We've been really busy recently trying to finish off some projects while we can, and haven't had the time or energy to deal with enquiries. Apologies to anyone who's received a non-response, but hopefully this explains why.

We will have a very limited number of appointments available in October (not certain exactly how many at this stage). We're keeping a list of people to contact with regards to these upcoming appointments. If you'd like to be added to the list to contact shortly with options, please send an email to [email protected].

We'll make a final post at some point, but we want to say a huge thank you to all of our customers - it's been a huge pleasure for both of us to help you with your motorhomes and campervans over the years. We've learned so much about our trade and really enjoyed meeting all of you. We have really appreciated your passion for your vehicles and the places they take you.

Some later model Classic Hymers have a style of top cupboards with open cubbies at the bottom. There are definitely two types of owner, those who don't mind looking at the cupboard contents and those who do. One of our recent clients is in the 'do mind' camp, and these doors were our solution - real cherrywood veneered doors for a near match to the original, rare-earth magnets for closures and stainless piano hinges.

We were pleased to be able to hand Carl his Hymer back this week with a new wetroom conversion. His original shower tray was cracked and unusable, so Carl asked us to carry out a conversion to a shower and toilet wetroom.

This features a custom stainless tray which covers the whole room, with an Eco Plastic Wood duckboard underfoot. New hygienic PVC cladding to the walls and ceiling, with accent walls in printed vinyl. To brighten the space up, we fitted warm white LED lighting installed in a bespoke concealed fitting.

We really enjoyed this project - it builds on a number of ideas we've been experimenting with, and allowed us to try out some new materials and techniques. We're really proud of how it turned out - what do you think?

(Apologies for the ever-so-slightly blurry photo. I had to suspend the 360 camera from the ceiling, and it was impossible to get it to stay dead still!)

Hello world, long time no post!

We need your help - we've started work on a new project: to design and build the ultimate camper for the outdoor enthusiast. Our focus is on outdoor hobbies and sports which require bulky equipment, and so we'd love to get input from as many people who fit that description as possible. If that's you, or someone you know, then please complete the survey here:

If it's not you, but it's someone you know, then please tag and share. We want to build the best thing we can, and that means we need input!

Thanks guys :)

Our workshop is tiny, like *really* small for the work we do. Since the CNC of awesomeness arrived and displaced our board storage trolley, we've been struggling. Moving around the 'shop was difficult, finding tools and space to work was harder than it needed to be. Something had to be done, and it couldn't be put off.

So Matty designed a brand new piece of workshop equipment, a board storage trolley AND bench in one. It eats 8'x4' boards, has a woodworking vice on one end and space for the metalworking vice at the other in a range of orientations. Lots of steel, lots of welding, and we have it. It replaces 3 bits of furniture and means we can revel in all the lovely lovely space we get back 😁

It's been a little while since you've heard from us about the refit of Wren. Like many of you, August has been about holidays and festivals, but we are back on this project with gusto!

One of the client's requirements was for the interior to be clad in tongue and groove boards. The big problem with using softwood tongue and groove boards would be the weight of the wood. Our solution was to have very lightweight 6mm poplar ply grooved on a CNC. The lightweight ply is approx 10% heavier than the original wallboards, but has the thickness we need to take the groove detail. These sheets have now been bonded to the walls using panel adhesive, in exactly the same way a traditional wallboard would be.

Another challenge for us was the removal of the front high-level cupboards. These actually form part of the strength of the front of the vehicle, so we've replaced them with steel reinforcing frames fixed into the original mounting holes. These are hidden beneath the tongue and groove cladding, and it gives the client the completely open space and clean lines she asked for.

Added a nice new solar mohawk to this van! It's a lovely Reimo high top, but it doesn't have a lot of flat roof space. So we've squeezed a 120W panel up the front. It'll need parking facing south to make the best of it, but it also happens to look pretty cool :)

Ace to catch up with Theo and Bee of again yesterday. Brand new roof rack fitted, mission accomplished! It's a really nice bit of kit, and we can't wait to see what goodies they bolt on up there 😀

The rebuild of Wren continues! We've now completed all of the welding work that has to be done, and it's all had coats of zinc primer and chassis black. Once we started digging, it was clear that both wheel arches needed replacing, as did the offside mudguard bracket and the nearside chassis outside rail. The rear garage frame has been fixed up, and the frame is all back together. Next job - a new floor for the rear.
