PORSCHE AUTO TECHNICIANS WANTED
Both full-time and part-time positions available.
We are a Porsche specialist that has been going since 1994. We service, modify and restore Porsches of every era, from air-cooled classics to the latest track-focused machines. We are busy, the workshop is full and we're looking for another enthusiast to join the team.
What you'll be working on:
Porsche is our speciality, but the ramps are rarely just Porsches. Expect classic BMWs, Ferraris, race-prepared cars, vintage Mercedes, plus our own collection of rare German metal. No two days are the same.
Who we want:
• Experience: Experience in automotive mechanics is a bonus, but not essential. Talent, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn matter just as much.
• Skills: Skills in engine building, diagnostics, electronics, tuning, welding or fabrication are all valuable, and we'll match you to the work that suits you best.
• Background: No Porsche experience needed. If you have the drive to learn, we'll teach you.
• Communication: Contact with customers and suppliers will be involved, so a confident, professional manner is essential.
Why work with us?
This is far from a routine garage job. You'll work hands-on with plenty of high-end vehicles, in a fully equipped clean workshop full of proper driver's cars and people who share your passion.
Pay is competitive.

1982 PORSCHE 924 TURBO - £21,995

A UK right-hand-drive Series 2 Turbo with a comprehensive history file and a thoughtful, well-chosen specification.

THE CAR

This is a genuine UK right-hand-drive 1982 Porsche 924 Turbo that has clearly been cherished throughout it's life. It is a Series 2 car with the 177hp engine. 1982 was the final year of 924 Turbo production in most markets, and only 1,819 were built worldwide that model year, of which just 943 were to Rest of World specification.

It is a very scarce Porsche.

It shows 104,238 miles and comes with a history file that includes invoices dating back to the 1980s, previous MOT certificates, the original stamped service book and a full set of maintenance records. It has had six owners from new, including one long-term keeper from 1988 to 2013. It was recommissioned in 2013 after a period of storage and has since had enthusiastic ownership and considerable expenditure to make it drive as well as it looks.
Originally supplied by AFN Porsche, the car keeps its authentic character, with a number of carefully chosen upgrades and plenty of preventative maintenance. The cambelt was replaced in 2020, and the most recent service was in April 2024.

Air filter
Rear wheel bearings
Alternator belt and new alternator
New drive shafts
High-pressure fuel lines
Track rod ends
Refurbished torque tube bearings
New OEM brake discs, Brembo pads, new master cylinder and fresh fluid
Full four-wheel alignment and geometry setup
Fully adjustable GAZ Gold coilovers at the front and GAZ Gold telescopic dampers at the rear
Custom turbo-back stainless-steel exhaust with interchangeable V-band tips
Full gearbox rebuild in 2018 by Porsche/924 Turbo specialist Alan Stokes

The result is a 924 Turbo that feels very solid on the road. It starts easily and boosts strongly, and the refreshed drivetrain, suspension and brakes give it a capable, confidence-inspiring feel.

SPECIFICATION

Finished in Alpine White with the original factory pinstripe, with a Grey Berber cloth interior in beautifully preserved condition.

Turbocharged engine and 5-speed manual gearbox
Electric windows and mirrors
Removable sunroof with its original storage bag
Blaupunkt radio
Front fog lights
Steering wheel and parcel shelf
Spare wheel, jack and factory tool kit
Three keys

The wheels are in exceptionally good condition and are fitted with Continental tyres that have plenty of tread left.

CONDITION

This is an impressive car for its age. The Alpine White paint is bright and even, with no significant dents or scratches, and the wheels are virtually unmarked. Inside, the Grey Berber seats and the steering wheel are particularly well preserved, with only a few age-related cracks to the dashboard, as you'd expect on a 40-plus-year-old Porsche. The engine bay is exceptionally clean, and the boot is tidy and retains its original fabric parcel shelf, spare wheel, jack and tool kit.

The car has benefited from sympathetic ownership and genuine mechanical attention, not just cosmetic preparation.

HISTORY AND DOCUMENTATION

The history file is one of this car's major attractions. It is a comprehensive ring binder with invoices going back to the 1980s, previous MOT certificates, service documentation and the original stamped service book. Much of the early servicing was done by Porsche main dealers, which shows the car has been regularly maintained throughout its life.

🔎 Thinking of buying this vehicle?

Before committing, GCR Central Ltd can carry out an independent Pre-Purchase Vehicle Inspection (PPI) to help identify mechanical faults, previous repairs, cosmetic issues and potential hidden defects.

You'll receive a clear digital report with photographs, findings and recommendations.
