To say we’ve been busy with air conditioning work over the past month or so would be an understatement!
With the recent weather, it’s understandable that many people are looking to get their vehicle’s air conditioning regassed when it stops working. Unfortunately, it’s often the case that an underlying fault has caused the system to lose its gas in the first place.
That’s why we don’t simply carry out an air conditioning regas without first checking the integrity of the system. This helps ensure that our customers don’t waste money on a regas that could quickly leak away.
This VW Passat came to us with an empty system. A nitrogen leak test highlighted a leak from the condenser — had we simply regassed it, the air conditioning would likely have stopped working again within a couple of days.
Not great news given the heat, but at least no money was wasted on a regas that wouldn’t have lasted.
