Aldridge Driving Instruction Experienced in HGV, PSV, motorbikes. I’m a patient instructor that can help you with nerves & anxiety I started driving over 30 years ago.

Then I became a Pcv driver in 2004 where my main job was driving coaches of all sizes all over the uk. My passion has always been in driving and I went in for my full motorbike licence. I had a dream for teaching so I decided to take my instructor course for cars and have not looked back since. In 2022 I took my full HGV licence. my ultimate goal is to be a large vehicles instructor but I enjoy what I do now

New rules for some Van drivers.

If you're driving goods vehicles over 2.5 tonnes on international runs between the UK and EU for hire and reward, this one's for you.

From 1 July 2026, vehicles like yours will need a smart tachograph 2 fitted, and you'll need to follow the same drivers' hours rules that HGV drivers already work to.

These rules are there to protect your health and safety on the road. Getting a booking for a tachograph fitting takes around 4 to 6 weeks on average, and with July coming around faster than you'd think, now is the time to get it sorted. Leaving it to the last minute could mean you're not road-legal for international jobs.

Not sure if this affects you? If you're only driving within the UK, or doing international trips for your own account where driving isn't your main job, you're not in scope.
