π¨ What started as a puncture repair quickly turned into a tyre replacement... π¨
We were recently called out to assist a customer with a suspected puncture on their Range Rover Sport.
At first glance, the tyre looked like a straightforward puncture repair. However, once we removed the wheel and inspected the tyre properly, we discovered a large piece of metal embedded deep into the tread.
Unfortunately, the damage was too severe for a safe repair.
Many drivers assume every puncture can be repaired, but British Standard guidelines are very clear. If the damage is outside the repairable area, too large, or has caused internal damage to the tyre structure, replacement is the only safe option.
In this case, the metal had penetrated deep into the tyre, making a repair impossible.
