Thinking about replacing a Steel bolt with Titanium?
Any standard steel bolt without numbers stamped on the head can be replaced with titanium
But what about high tensile bolts?
Below is a graph that shows the strength of some common metric bolts along with Titanium bolts we sell.

Conclusions… It is always ok to replace 8.8 high tensile steel bolts with titanium
It is never ok to replace 12.9 high tensile bolts with titanium.
It could be ok to replace 10.9 high tensile bolts but you will need to consider carefully your application

The outer bolts are our new 'all metal' Titanium locknuts. This design is suitable for high and low temperature applications (including exhaust manifolds and turbos) and are fully re-usable. We have them in m8 x 1.,25 and m10x1.25. These will stay looking good forever !
