COVID-19 UPDATE 2;
In recent weeks we have seen many customers, who have to use their vehicles everyday, book in for MOT tests. Whilst we at Bedford Garage applaud all the key workers keeping our local community, city and country healthy and well supplied with goods at this time, we have a duty of care to ensure that their vehicles are safe....
40% of the vehicles tested failed, meaning they were unsafe to be on the road, with 21% being of a Dangerous nature - 1 in every 5 vehicle tested on average!
We emplore you NOT to drive your vehicle unless it is absolutely necessary, however, if you are having to use your vehicle for unavoidable travel it is imperative that it is still roadworthy; for all others' road users safety and legally (up to £2500 fine if it's found to be faulty by the Police).
Maybe it's worth looking online at https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history to see what last years advisory items were? Are those worn discs and brake pads close to legal limit going to last potentially up to 18 months before being looked at? Were the tyres close to the legal limit? Were the shock absorbers misting with oil? These problems will not get better with time or mileage.
We will be staying OPEN to support our customers with MOT testing, preventative and corrective vehicle maintenance.
WE OFFER A LOCAL COLLECTION AND DELIVERY SERVICE WHICH AT THIS TIME WILL BE PRIORITISED TO THE MOST VULNERABLE IN SOCIETY AND BLUE CARD HOLDERS.
In order to protect and minimise risk to both ourselves and our customers we wear disposable gloves, sanitise the steering wheel, gearstick, driving controls, keys and door handles of every vehicle upon delivery and collection. Our card payment facilities and reception area are sanitised hourly and gloves available upon request. Bookings can be taken over the phone or via our website, and card payments also over the phone.
We are doing all we can to support our community at this time and will continue to offer excellent value for money, an individual tailored service and quality workmanship to all our new and loyal customers.
