⚡🚗 Another EV job completed at Fine Drive Auto Centres! 🔧

This Jaguar I-PACE came to us with a problem that left the vehicle completely unable to start.

After carrying out a full diagnostic investigation, we identified a fault with the high-voltage negative contactor within the vehicle’s high-voltage system.

Our technicians got to work, replaced the faulty contactor and carried out the necessary checks to make sure everything was operating correctly. ✅

The result? The I-PACE is back up and running normally, and another happy customer is back on the road! 🙌

After all the hard work, training and preparation, we’re ready to get the season underway as we welcome North East Leeds FC to The Hunslet Club.

🚗 A Little Piece of Audi History in the Workshop! 🔧

We recently had this 1991 Audi Coupé in with us — a proper old-school classic! ❤️

This one came in for some important preventative maintenance, with the timing belt kit and water pump due for replacement.

With a car of this age, getting the job right is all about taking your time, checking everything carefully and making sure the engine is ready for many more miles.

The front end had to come apart to give us the access we needed, and once everything was stripped down, we could get to the job properly. 🔧

There’s something special about working on cars like this — over 30 years old and still looking fantastic! 😍

When the fault isn’t where you expect it… 🔧⚡

This Hyundai Ioniq came to us with an intermittent clutch actuator communication fault.

The diagnostic code was only part of the story. To get to the wiring properly, the DC/DC converter had to be removed, giving us access to the wiring loom.

From there, the wiring had to be checked wire by wire until we found the culprit — a faulty wire causing the intermittent communication problem.

🔧 Fault found.
⚡ Wiring repaired.
🚗 Problem solved.

This is why proper diagnostics matter. We don’t just replace parts and hope — we find the fault.

🚨 AdBlue problems? Don’t ignore them! 🚨

This Mercedes C250 BlueTEC came into us with an issue within the AdBlue dosing system.

AdBlue is an important part of the vehicle’s emissions system. It is injected into the exhaust system to help reduce NOx emissions. But when the system develops a fault, AdBlue can crystallise around the dosing valve and restrict or affect the correct delivery of the fluid.

As you can see from the pictures, there was significant AdBlue crystallisation around the dosing valve.

We carried out a proper diagnostic test using our Bosch diagnostic equipment, measured the dosing quantity and checked it against the manufacturer’s specified values.

🔧 Big job. Big responsibility. Great experience. 💪

This Fiat 500 came into our workshop needing an engine replacement—not your average day at work!

Our apprentice Matt got stuck in, working alongside our experienced technicians throughout the engine swap. There’s no better way to learn than by getting hands-on with real repairs under the guidance of a skilled team.

Every experienced mechanic started somewhere, and we’re proud to invest in the next generation of technicians while continuing to deliver quality workmanship for our customers.
